Let’s chat about this. I’m curious how many of you have actually sought out a mentor for guidance.
I’ve noticed that in nearly every book or interview with successful folks, they often talk about having a mentor who helps them grow, points out their mistakes, and pushes them forward.
So I wonder, how many of you reached a point where you felt you needed a mentor? How hard was it to find one, and what kind of impact did they have on you? I bet not many people go down this road, maybe out of fear or uncertainty. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start or how to approach someone to be my mentor if I ever find the right person.
And for those who’ve been mentors to others, I’d love to hear your stories too. Don’t hold back!
Almost everyone who's done well had a mentor

You do not need to have a mentor before you can become successful in life. There are many successful people in life that does jot have a mentor.
Some people only like after a role model and they may want to be like such people and work towards it.
But know that success is not about having a mentor or looking after someone as a role model. It is about how smart you are in achieving successes. Opportunity and exposure are also very important.

Well said!
There were successful person or people who do able to reach up the peak or pinnacle of success that doesn't have a mentor. You could be able to learn things on your own or simply being self taught on which sources of information could be found online. It would really be just that depending on you on how you do divide your time on dealing up with multiple things on which we know that theres other priorities that we do need to do.This is why it does really need up that discipline and control and proper handling of someones time.
On the time that you do saw yourself have a hard time on having some self learn then this is the time you do consider on getting a mentor to fasten up your learning phase on various things.Success isn't something that be a guarantee that it would happen because there would be factors that affect out the path to success but of course it doesnt mean that it can't be solved out. It's a matter of sustain and survival because not all would really be that having that strong will and dedication when it comes to this manner.
Stop relying on someone if you want to be successful, except you're a woman which mean your mentor is your husband.
There's no one want to help other people without any benefit, why someone need to take more responsibility if they can just use their free time for me time, entertain or making more money?
If you're searching for a mentor, you will be high likely get a fake mentor or fall into Multi Level Marketing business.
a mentor is not essential, but what is essential is the ability to know the limitations of your own knowledge and find others to fill that gap. for instance instead of finding someone to act above you, you can find and employ someone below you to just do the task themselves on your behalf
eg if your knowledge is not strong in business tax law, dont find a finance mentor to teach and guide you in accounting, just hire an accountant

Before you will have the mindset of having somebody as your mentor, there must be a certain field at which you have interest in wether in Banking, sports, entertainment, politics and all what not, which is where a mentor comes in because you'll be seeing that person as your role model because of the hierarchy to which he has attained in his career, then you are as a person in one hand is trying to also ascertain that same level the person you hold on a high esteem has gotten to as a mentor.
So finding a mentors squarely depends on what you find yourself doing and who has gotten to an enviable height that you feel can properly guide you on what steps to take as you strive to go higher.
Having a mentor is reality, but I think more precisely every successful person has a spiritual teacher he complains, because the problem of people who are pursuing their success will be in a doubtful mood and many decisions that are very difficult, so that having a teacher or mentor is something What they need to clear their minds from stress in making every difficulty that someone faces in his business.
But that does not mean that everyone who has a mentor will succeed, because it depends on the mentor in guiding.

We all have that yearning to have a mentor that will guide us and mold us into what we want to be. All great personalities before they become what they turned out to be have mentors or gurus. This is a continuous cycle of handling down knowledge that we learn from over the years. When the mentor passes all his knowledge, we also become a mentor to people who need our guides.
We have our fathers, our teachers, the stars that we adore; these are the people that become a mentor that helps shape our future.

I'm one of those who believe that "there are exceptions to every rule", so I'm sure there are people who have succeeded without a mentor. It is usually the harder way, when you have to discover everything yourself, and in the process mistakes are made that can cost a lot. It's a bumpy road and only those who have gone through it know how many problems they had to face.
Having a good mentor who will teach you all the "little tricks of the great masters" means a lot. It makes many things simpler when there is someone who can show you by example how things work and how to overcome difficult situations. Knowledge has always been for sale, whoever had to pay could get it... the rest of us depend on whether we have someone close to us who can and wants to show us something. And some people have that person next to them, but many of us don't... we learn ourselves and "steal" knowledge from others in various ways.

This is not even about there are exceptions. This is used when something is not common. In their case, there are many people in life that got rich without a mentor.
But do you know that some people have mentor but are not rich? Mentor is not about being rich, is also got to the point of living a good life. Life is not only about money.

Ive had people in my life that I look up to & respect so I can see where OP is going with this statement. I think its important to look at people who you want to emulate, to see if you can replicate some of their success. Of course its not possible to 100% copy somebody but to take good attributes from different successful people & apply it in your own life can only be a good thing.

As long as we are learning something positive from someone, that can directly or indirectly be our mentor, because we follow up with some steps or advise form such a person, anybody could be our mentor, we don't have to be sentimental about choosing a mentor, we can also be a source of motivation to some other people and thereby serving a mentor to them, even though we are not aware of how significant our impacts is in other people's life until we are being told.

I realized that mentorship plays a big role in the life of a mentee. Aside their dedication and passion towards following the good step to succeed and achieve their dreams. Was when I became a mentor to someone, I gradually discovered that this guy was really imitating everything I do both the good and the bad. And to him it seems it he was following a good step.
My mentor was such a great leader and created a great impact and role to who Ive become and what Ive achieved in life. But then. I noticed he tried as much as not bringing up his weakness so I can see to it. Rather he try making me see the importance of avoiding it.
Now heres the thing. For those who are mentors out there. Always ensure to protect your mentees from your weakness. Because every mentor has a weakness which he or she fights to over come. As this can cause a big problem for their future. Most people believe that whatever who theyre looking up to do is okay for them.
Also for the mentees out there. Always try to avoid the negative side of your mentors. Once you dictate them, of course youll know whats wrong and good. So chose the hood side as you work towards succeeding and achieving your goal through their mentorship.

If this is what you mean by been successful person, I think that I might not be successful because I don't have a mentor, I don't have a mentor but I do have teachers I learn things I want to grasp and not their ways of their success. I have my own stories that I think I can use to motivate myself to be successful. If it's emotional aspect of my life, I have it with me and if it's logical one, I have one with me and some hidden talents too.
Mentors wouldn't tell you how they probably got arrested or the worst that has happened to you. People are very smarts when it comes to advising people and saying good things but they will never tell you the bad side of life, they will not tell you how they were helped, they will not tell you that they have debt, they will not tell you some hiddens things. Just be yourself and do your struggle, there is a day you will look back and realized.
Some people have been able to mentor themselves and then obtain indirect mentorship from different materials and people to become successful at the level they are currently. A mentor is to guide you through some decisions in life but if you do not have a direct mentorship, indirect mentorship could still work for you or if you're someone who can find focus on your own and do not need someone for extra motivate you from outside then maybe mentorship may not be necessary for you.
Before mentorship became a thing we had successful people so I do not think that every successful person had a mentor. Some people were born mentors.

It's hard to find a mentor, that's true. Because what people offers nowadays are these mentoring services that you're required to pay for a fee. I don't have one but I follow some advises from these great and wealthy people on how they've done it. Whenever I see an interview about their finances and their journey from the 1% of them, I am considering them as a mentor because I take heed of their advises. One mentor in real life that I have are my parents, they surely have given me life lessons and on how to be good in money handling because I've seen how they did it. And some of my friends have asked me some advises as well on what I have learned but I don't think that's considered me as their mentor.
I think this is true, but I'm not sure it needs to be a one on one personalized experience in order to learn from a mentor in a certain industry. You can have mentors who share knowledge via Youtube videos, articles or any number of techniques - as long as the pupil is sufficiently interested in teaching themselves in a certain area. Having a specific teacher that you can bounce ideas off can certainly speed up the process, as you may have many questions and if you only have a video - there is nobody to ask, which may result in you progressing slower or making mistakes a long the way that you might have been steered from otherwise. Many skilled teachers can make a huge difference to your life.
Where did this idea came from? Not all successful people in the world had a mentor, hell in most cases they don't, because mentors are from a bygone era and they usually share with you the basic principles of what the day to day looks like instead of what books show you which is what it "should" be and not what it is, and mentors are done with after they show that, after you are done with them, you check the situation and see everyday how it is and then make changes based on that, it will make things easier and definitely causes you to have a greater return without a doubt.
This shouldn't be really that much of a trouble, it is definitely something that would benefit everyone if they could just end up doing better and grow out of their mentors help.
Mentor is very necessary in life to succeed. Imagine a Mentor as a guy who shows you the ready path, and steps that he went through, shows you the mistakes that he made, and shows you everything from a different perspective. A mentor is someone with experience who learns from their mistakes and achieves greatness. If you consider their advice, then you'll succeed much earlier than you would do alone but there is a chance you wouldn't succeed alone.
I am a UI/UX designer. Sadly, I didn't have a mentor and had to go through this alone but I am a mentor of other people and when they tell me how they were struggling before me and how they find this job easy now, that makes me happy. That shows me how I, as a mentor, help and guide them through their career path.

It is obvious that every successful person have a mentor so how will you acknowledge the fact that every successful one there is someone behind its success because you cannot stand on your own without having a supporter or somebody who give you the procedures to stand well let me use our lifestyle from childhood to narrate this or illustrate this to understanding of everyone because a child started any character from childhood through the parents mostly the mother by sitting a child or standing a child so when it grows it will follow such steps that is why is good to appreciate anyone that helped you to achieve another goal which you have not achieved before but some people is ingrate by they don't show appreciation of what people transfer or teach them
