Excited to share that the Antminer S9 is finally here. This is the first bitcoin miner ever to use a 16nm process chip and with its efficiency of 0.1J/GHs*, it's the most efficient miner out there right now. The S9 delivers a hashrate of 14 Th/s while consuming about 1375 watts* of power. You can place your orders for the initial batch of Antminer S9 at www.bitmaintech.com. They plan to start shipping this first batch from June 12, 2016. We're committed to supporting the bitcoin community and will keep on producing top-notch mining gear. * Note: Results might vary by 7%.

Is there anything even remotely close to this performance? 3x the hash rate for the same power consumption in the same form factor as the S7...

Holy Moses, they did it again. Only problem is ROI with that price tag. We are looking at more than 140 days.

Not sure what they have in mind for the controller board? It's populated for 4 Hash Boards and 2 Fans but has provision for 20 Hash Boards and 10 Fans... Each of the 3 Hash boards has 63 chips arranged as 21 nodes of 3 chips, and looks to be the same design as the 135 chip S7 with a Buck Converter feeding the string. If the voltage fed to the string was the same as the S7 at 10.5V this would give a core voltage of 0.5V / Chip. Rich

Very nice, congrats bitmain! Personally I'll be letting the halving dust settle before I buy any more ASICs.

Impressive... probably will wait until at least batch 2 or 3 to see where the price falls. I got sucked into Batch 1 S7 and that price changed quickly...
