What do you all think is the key part of an Antminer? Is it the power supply, hash board, control board, or the cooling system that matters the most?

Let's say I answered power supply. How will you analyze my response? I feel like asking which components are more important in a device like this feels a bit weird, considering you'll need all of them to run your RIG properly. Are you going to cut corners to launch an Antminer competitor because people think cooling isn't as important as power supply, if you found that the majority of people say that?

The power supply is the most critical component, as it ensures that components such as the hash board and the control board receive a stable and safe voltage. Without a reliable power supply, the mining machine will also crash, suffer from performance degradation, or even burn out the hardware. Cooling components: If the mining machine overheats for a long time, it will cause the computing power to plummet, the chip performance to degrade faster, and eventually lead to premature damage to the entire machine. Hash board: It is the core computing component of the Antminer and determines the strength of the mining machine's computing power (mining capability). The control board plays a central management role: it ensures that the mining machine performs mining tasks stably and efficiently, and will adjust or alarm if abnormalities occur (such as overheating, fluctuations in computing power). They are interdependent and indispensable. I just want to ask: If your mining machine overheats, will you equip it with high-performance cooling components? Which component are you most willing to invest in for your mining machine: cooling components, power supply, overclocking, or other parts? In other words, which part are you willing to spend money on?

Why buy a crappy ASIC and then invest in it? Maybe it's better to research mining forums before buying? Miners typically invest in an improved cooling system and high-quality thermal paste. In rare cases, they buy a control board, for example, to solo mine on one board if the other two are burned out.

Hmm, that would depend on a lot of things, but I doubt they're unwilling to spend on any of them if they deemed it necessary. As mentioned above, there's no way miners don't research every aspect of a rig before manually upgrading things, because they're only willing to improve the cooling. Just like when I want to buy a laptop, I look at reviews on its battery, screen, cooling performance, etc.

I agree, but certain points need to be taken into account. If we're talking about an industrial miner with thousands of ASICs, it's unlikely that mining companies will upgrade each ASIC. They'll design comprehensive cooling or improved ventilation for the room housing the ASICs. An enthusiast miner will upgrade an ASIC when necessary, but this is usually done with older ASICs that are older than 1 year and not under warranty.

At first I thought you are one of those people who buys crappy asic miners in bulk and go recycle them removing some useful parts of the hardware for something else or even future asic mining build, I know two Chinese guys who go around sourcing for old miners but ready your post shows that you know nothing about asic mining. Do not buy older miners when you really have no use for them, it is a total waste of your hard earned money.

Some people have free electricity, and it's not necessarily obtained illegally. In such cases, they buy old ASICs to make a small profit. New ASICs are very expensive. And there are plenty of cheap components for old ASICs.
