Are there really people who struggle with public speaking?

I’m honestly surprised to see that some folks just don’t know how to handle speaking in front of others. This came up during a get-together with my friends where someone was supposed to take charge and present, but they totally flopped at it. I didn’t mean to bring this up here, but something made me want to see if others feel the same. It feels like there are people who prefer to keep things private and only want to share their thoughts and feelings in a one-on-one situation. There’s also that well-known guy, Mark, who had a similar experience, right? He turned his struggles into Facebook, allowing people to connect and share online instead. Have you seen something like this happen before?
