Hey everyone,
I've got an Umbrel node and after I restart it, I'm seeing that it's about 100 blocks behind. I haven't turned on SSH for my node. Can someone help me figure out what settings might be causing these missing blocks after the restart?
I'm not so familiar with Umbrell node but I think you need to enable SSH first before you can anything with your node.
Why not bring your issue to umbrel community they might be able to help you about your case.
I found a similar issue but the guide seems pointing to misconfiguration you need to delete the lnd.conf but you can only do that through SSH.

No SSH to access the node? That would be hit or miss.
Since you'll need to check your Bitcoin node's "debug.log" to point you to the right direction.
There should be something in the last two logged sessions in that file, before and after the restart.
Anyways, ±100 blocks is just less than a day worth so it wouldn't take long to catch-up to the tip.
Silly to mention this but if that "restart" took about half a day, the gap is just right for the number of missing blocks.
You didn't specify any helpful details about what and how you did it. That way it remains guesswork for those willing to help you. Mind reading devices are not commonly available...
First: why do you had to restart your Umbrel node?
I run an Umbrel node for testing and evaluation purposes. I hardly ever have to restart it unless an update demands a node restart which is rarely the case. My Umbrel runs on a Raspi 4B and hardly needs any attention or petting.
Second: how exactly did you restart your node? Did you use the RESTART link from the settings (very much likely but who knows)?
For troubleshooting you can generate a log by clicking on START.
When I had to restart my Umbrel node, it did miss only new blocks that came into existance during the restart. So maybe there are some clues to issues of your Umbrel during the restart process in the troubleshooting log. If the log doesn't contain any clues, you would have to login via SSH and look for details in ~/umbrel/app-data/bitcoin/data/bitcoin/debug.log (this is the location of the bitcoind log file for Umbrel 0.5.4, if you are already on Umbrel 1.0.x it could be somewhere else; you didn't say anything about your Umbrel version, did you?).
Is it always 100 blocks +/- ?
Did it happen just once or does it do it every time?
Which hardware RPi4 or 5 or X86 or?
Why did you reboot, was there an issue or did it update or....?
