So, my broker, who’s helped me sell three FBA businesses and closed a couple of decent deals, has a client interested in buying my business. The big selling point here is that the software licensing has been settled. Specifically, it’s with a bitcoin gambling site called Bustabit.
My broker is asking for copies of my licensing agreements, but all I've got is a link to a text file on their site (bustabit.com/license.txt). I even reached out in their main thread in the gambling section, but they keep saying I should've asked for what I needed back when I bought it. I feel like it’s still my time of purchase since I never actually received what I paid for (the license).
I tried contacting the organization that’s supposed to keep things transparent (The Crypto Gambling Foundation), but their email is dead, and they haven’t replied to my message about it in their thread here.
I also asked for advice in the "legal advice" section on another site, and while it’s not confirmed by a lawyer, they told me it sounds like I got nothingburger'd:
"... and your exemption is really a nothingburger. But again, I’d talk to an IRL lawyer for confirmation."
I’m just posting this here as a last attempt because it’s hard to accept being nothingburgered... especially when I see Bustabit’s main site just raking in bitcoins like crazy.
(Bitcoin related) Software licensing Is a .TXT file posted online sufficient?
