So, Bitdeer just dropped some news about their SEAL03 Bitcoin mining chip, and it looks promising with a reported efficiency of 10 J/TH.
In their October update released earlier this week, they mentioned that they’re expecting to receive the first samples of the SEAL03 by Q2 next year. This tape-out is super important as it confirms the chip’s design and sets the stage for mass production.
On top of that, Bitdeer has kicked off mass production for their SEALMINER A1 and A2 miners, totaling 21.7 EH/s, using their earlier mining chips. They hope to roll out 3.7 EH/s of the SEALMINER A1 by January 2025 for their own mining needs. About 0.4 EH/s of that is already heading to their sites in Texas and Norway, expected to go live by the end of Q1. Meanwhile, 1.7 EH/s of the A1 miners are still being produced.
They’re also ramping up production for the SEALMINER A2, having secured enough foundry capacity for 18 EH/s to sell and for their own mining operations. Just last month, they shared the specs for their A2 miners that come with air and hydro cooling options, hitting 226 TH/s and 446 TH/s in hashrate, both at 16.5 J/TH efficiency.

Is this thing even real?
Lots of glitsy web pages (interestingly all from a single source) but nothing tangible or physical available.
Looks a bit scammy to me.
95% for scam likelyhood.
-updated 11/11/24, having looked into this further and finding that all of the info available is single source. Looks like they're just scamming for pre-pay and will deliver nothing.
