Can I use my Bitcoin Core PC for ASIC mining instead of joining a pool?

Hey everyone. So, I'm curious about something. I just got a used InnoSilicon T2T 32T, made on 11-06-2020. I'm figuring out how to work with this hardware since my past mining was all about that shitcoin mining life (ETC) on my PC. In the ASIC settings, I saw some spots for entering Pool address and port, so I tried putting my node info (http://127.0.0.1:8332) and couldn't get it to connect. Could it be the IP address that's causing the issue? I even tried using my desktop's LAN IP instead of 127... but still no luck. Right now, I'm mining in a solo pool (EDITED TO NOT PROMOTE ANY POOL). But honestly, I'd love to mine directly from my own node with my ASIC. Does anyone know how to set this up? I checked the ASIC documentation for answers but came up empty. Happy to share this, and sorry if this has been asked before; couldn't find an answer through the forum search. Thanks, everyone!

Short version: No. Longer version: You have to either setup a pool or a stratum proxy to have your miner talk to your node. Longest version: If you are running your own pool at that point you are more or less having to make sure everything in running the pool is fine. At the moment back of the napkin math comes up with these odds of you finding a solo block: 1 in 97,000 per day or about 270 YEARS If your internet blinked for a moment or you made a configuration misstate you will loose the block. Just point to one of the solo pools or be prepared for a steep learning curve of BTC and linux and a bunch of other things. -Dave

Having your own node and running your own local pool is the only way to mine solo without 3rd party. But it's a waste of time and power if you only have one unit to mine solo because you will never be able to solve a block or it takes decades before you can solve a block. Based on the pool where you mine solo I never heard of that pool before and according to Whois, it's 2 months old. Look: What I see here is you are trying to promote this pool here.

It's bitaxe pool, they have active topics all around even local boards, I would also be normally suspicious about it but in this case I doubt they would have done this to advertise their pool like this, the owner has already an account here Besides, it's a pool for low hash miners like nerdminer or bitaxe or other usb stuff, not built to attract ASICs, my opinion, a hobby pool for testing toys. As for OP problem, if you're not doing this for learning and testing and you actually want to solve a block and get it accepted in time, then I would advise to mine over a solo pool.

Was just about to post the same thing. Going to also say that if you did follow one of the guides to setup a solo testnet pool like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5415335.0 I could see someone thinking that it would work for an external stand alone ASIC. Then you google some things and public pool does come up. Either way, my original comment still stands, don't do it yourself. -Dave

No way tryin to promote a pool. its a legit doubt. if u prefer, i will REMOVE this pool name into my post to protect/avoid someone to mine there and have some loss (IDK how it may happen). Anyway, i downt want to mine in a pool that chargeback fee for kings friend (As f2Pool did). So, my objective/goal is quite simple. I wanna do it for my lottomining.
