Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some help with an issue I’m having. I can’t seem to find my Bitcoin balance in my Blockchain.com wallet. I made some deposits back in 2016, but when I logged in recently, it shows 0 BTC. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
1. Used backup seeds in both Electron and Blockchain.
I noticed my wallet is now showing as Bech32 (P2WPKH), but I initially set it up with a P2PKH Legacy address. When I look under "Legacy" in my wallet settings, none of my old addresses appear.
2. Checked out my addresses.
In the "Wallets & Addresses" section, I found about 30 addresses, including receiving and change addresses, but all show 0 balance with no transaction history.
3. Tried to detect existing accounts.
I attempted to restore my wallet using my seed phrase, but it doesn’t seem to find any accounts. I even checked blockchain explorers with my previous wallet addresses, but they don’t show any funds.
4. Looked for archived addresses.
There’s no "Archived Addresses" section in my wallet, and I can’t find a way to restore them.

I assume that this is in Electrum since Blockchain doesn't have that feature.
That means that Electrum cannot detect any transaction from these derivation paths and script types: /master/electrum/bip39_wallet_formats.json
That includes the commonly used derivation paths but the account index wont be iterated if the first account_index is empty.
Try to restore it multiple times using "legacy (P2PKH)" script type instead of 'Detect', but change the derivation path below from m/44h/0h/0h to m/44h/0h/1h.
That'll restore your Blockchain wallet's second DeFi wallet if you have multiple wallets there (since it's possible to create multiple wallets before)
You can repeat that to restore the third with m/44h/0h/2h or the fourth with m/44h/0h/3h and so on.. just follow the pattern.
Does this mean that you have a list of your old addresses and the recipient of that "Bitcoin in 2016" is among those or you're talking about the addresses in Electrum's 'Addresses' tab?
If the former, then it simply means that your deposit in 2016 didn't actually get confirmed or just isn't sent at all.
If the latter, it an unnecessary step since Electrum has already checked its address list for transactions via the server where it's connected to.
If iterating the account index doesn't work, perhaps you've sent it to an "imported address" in your old wallet which can't be recovered using your seed phrase? (there's a note under that list)
In that case, the only way to restore those is to find its private key.
How much is the balance in the wallet that disappeared? Did you recover your password recently or recover your wallet using the pass phrase?
2 bitcoins , i deposited on from my mining computer to blockchain.com wallet and now when i open it it shows zero balance and i asked ai and said that blockchain.com changed my address of P2SH and now it cant show ,like it was achived or hidden by blockchain.com ,that i need to use electrum and in electrum it still shows zero
Last year Blockchain.com opened up using DeFi accounts. Check the DeFi account tab. Odds are your coins were moved from your legacy act to the DeFi one.

I'm no expert, but I've had some experience with blockchain issues. Have you tried contacting Blockchain.com support directly? They might be able to help you recover your balance or provide more insight into what's going on. I've heard their support team is pretty responsive. Maybe you can also try searching for similar issues on their forum or Reddit, see if anyone else has had a similar problem and how they resolved it.

Import the wallet mnemonic seed, choose BIP39, and try with all three types of address, 1, 3 and bc1, I believe that OP will get a correct wallet.
I have a wallet on blockchain.com in 2021 and import its seed to Electrum wallet works for me. About blockchain.com (more correctly blockchain.info wallet) in 2016, I am really not sure.
Exodus is not a wallet I recommend, but their guide on importing a wallet to Electrum is helpful.

I think the answer is no, but it doesn't hurt to ask, did you save an address, do you have an address saved on your email logs, etc.? Knowing the address can help you when trying to restore it with recovery tools.
According to the website walletsrecovery.org, blockchain .info used this derivation path
So you can try following nc50lc's tips and change the account, to know which account it is, you must know the correct order:
To learn more about what i'm talking about, expand your knowledge in learnmeabitcoin.com
So if you wanted to restore, for example, account 2, you should change the following 0:
m/44'/0'/0'/0/0
to
m/44'/0'/2'/0/0
In electrum, delete the last 2 zeros and the slash, in place of the commas, put the "h", you would import like this in electrum:
m/44h/0h/2h
And so on.
I hope you didn't make any mistakes, because i don't remember the blockchain .info changing the derivation path for creating wallets, and I've been using it for experiments since 2015, so you probably made some mistake like:
- Sent to an address that is not controlled by your wallet.
- You may have created more than 1 wallet on the blockchain .info and sent funds to another wallet that you control, but since it was a long time ago, you don't remember.
- According to nc50lc, you probably tried to make a transaction to the wallet, but it was never confirmed (check your account of the service you sent from, if there are log records).
Something happened and these are the possibilities considered.
My tip:
Whenever you create a new wallet, write down at least one of the following two items:
1st receiving address, fingerprint (not all wallet software shows), xpub
xpub - extended public key, although not very sensitive, sharing it with someone will expose all your addresses and balances. Keep it in a safe place too.
