Just spotted it on Bitmain's site... it's basically an S9 with 4 hashboards cranking out 18TH and rocking a water cooling system. What's cool is they claim it can handle up to 3bar (300kPa) pressure, so looks like you could set it up in a heating system.

I'd be thrilled if they provided a kit to water cool existing S9's. The profitability currently doesn't warrant buying the hydro - it's about 1.2k including the radiator, psu and shipping. Not to mention customs. If I could increase efficiency on my existing hardware though.... THAT would be fantastic!

yep, but have a look of the noise level and possibilities if you own a house ... its really possible to connect it to you water/solar tank if you have one. And your wife wont kill you because of the noise normal S9 produce

It's possible I'm not thinking outside the box but this looks like desperation to me. Other miners coming out with 18th and bitmain keeps reusing the s9 series.

There hasn't been an explanation why, but the last three (at least) threads on this miner were removed by mods. The most recent had about three days worth of discussion and disappeared yestereve.

They did the same thing to me when I tried to make a thread about another variant of the S9. Someone's OCD is a little overbearing... Anyway keep in mind that the miner is 1728W @ 25C and the fan/radiator uses another 32W @ 25C. So that's 1760W at 25C. Cost is $780 for the miner, $129 for fan/radiator, and $92 for PSU. That's $1001.00 plus shipping. So you folks that are excited about this for home mining, do the math.

Mods said it is because it is just S9 and nothing new it should be in S9 Thread.

Apparently a bunch of people disagree or they wouldn't keep making new threads about it. Might carry the same chips and controller but it's a different beast any way you look at it. In addition to the obvious waterblocks instead of heatsinks, it's a different hashboard and there's a different number of them. Makes as much sense as saying R4 discussion belongs exclusively in the S9 thread. Heck, even the T9 is more of a stock S9 than this is (only difference being 9 chips deleted from the PCB) and it gets its own threads.

Well, here is it world. I'm actually wondering how efficient it will be in  the winter here when ambient is around 50F. pricing is pretty inflated now. We'll expect a price drop in a couple weeks if just 18th/s unless market holds current up trend. I think we have it listed at 1.4k for the whole "set".

Yeah, I'd like to see some good discussion about this and a new thread is not bad for it. It is usually quite quiet at the hardware section, it is nice to see some discussion instead of posts just being removed. I would actually think about buying one S9Hydro for fun, it it would not be that expensive.

Well I would like it on a t2turbo 24th 1 unit quiet and say 90 watts a th. that would be a nice piece of gear.

No thank you. Liquid cooling might be fun for people jerking around at home but it would be a nightmare trying to run 10000+ liquid cooled units in my datacenter

Sweet. Another reason why they should do it.

Home mining is a huge untapped consumer market. I made a comment on one of the other threads that this would be maintenance heavy. So not industrial scale nor beginning/starting miner either for hobbyists. Price point as well needs some work but that's not much a surprise in the industry.

Huge? What percentage of people own BTC? What percentage of them are miners? Me thinks you and I have very different definitions of the word huge.
