Comparing the Historical Performance of Bitcoin and the S&P 500 So, we're looking at how Bitcoin has done historically compared to the S&P 500. Most of us probably have a pretty good sense of Bitcoin's journey since it started, right? We're talking adoption rates, profits, value increases, and all the ways it's been beneficial for the global economy, especially within decentralized finance. This discussion will break down Bitcoin's performance alongside the S&P 500 and explain why Bitcoin might be getting more love as an investment compared to centralized assets. For those who aren’t too familiar, the S&P 500 is basically the top 500 companies in the US stock market, ranked by market cap. When we compare how these two have performed over the years, Bitcoin seems to have the edge. The data I'm sharing spans from 2012 to 2024 and shows annual returns, with Bitcoin often leading the pack.

I do not like to use other assets to compare bitcoin than gold because in a decade or 2 decades from now, bitcoin will surpass all stocks and it will be below gold in marketcap while above all other assets. Also maybe there will even be a time bitcoin will compete with gold as the world is moving more to digital period and having better definitions for assets.

BTC is much faster than anything else in comparison from the traditional world. It's a known fact and BTC is the future: however, it still is volatile, and we don't need to forget about it. It's great to understand that the more time passes - the better BTC is seen by every party, basically.

It's well known that Bitcoin outshines many assets or investments in terms of profitability.  But many people are not aware of this fact because they are blinded by its volatility and risk. They want to invest in traditional assets that are stable but have lower returns. But they don't know that the profitability of Bitcoin is related to its volatility. Others have been misinformed about Bitcoin because they are getting information from the wrong sources. They have been brainwashed by people like Peter Schiff who keep spreading lies about Bitcoin.

You can get it from casebitcoin.com that gives you a table with update figures that you can not have from the cointelegraph article. With that site, you can have a ROI chart and can compare performances in ROIs of different assets with time too. The site of course has more helpful information presented in tables, charts and also educational resources. Get the ROI table here https://casebitcoin.com/ Get the ROI chart here https://casebitcoin.com/charts#roi_chart Get common critiques here https://casebitcoin.com/critiques

There is always a positive correlation, although corona was a stark exception, but even then, the drop was impossible to predict.

This is very good summary which is showing why Bitcoin is valuable. Main point is that Bitcoin being decentralized asset has performed much better historically than S&P 500. With comparing yearly profits from 2012 to 2024 information clearly shows that Bitcoin has earned more money than S&P 500. This makes strong case that Bitcoin is better investment for people who want high profits and major growth.

Everything now pointing at bitcoin in the global commerce, because it has been consistent and we see it as a decentralized economy that does not operate by the dictate of what the central authorities may influence, instead it's value depend on everyone of us, who are the users and how we get into the various markets in bitcoin, because the future of finance today and tomorrow lies with bitcoin, we should be getting ready for the massive shift soon.

2017 was huge time for bitcoin. Those who held till that time also made huge profit. But the good think is that even from that peak, the price has increased too much. In brief, it is never late to invest in bitcoin. If you start today and keep investing and wait for 5-10 years, you will be in possession of something very valuable. It might be enough for retirement in many cases.

It's clear that Bitcoin outperforms most, if not all digital assets compared with the duration of existence, although it's sitting on the 7th position when judged by MC. In the near future the possibility that Bitcoin competes only with gold in terms of MC is very high and possibly before Bitcoin exists up to 70 years it would've surpassed gold and taken the top position  as the most performing asset. Beyond these comparisons, one thing I know is that Bitcoin has a bright future, even brighter than gold.

OP is comparing Bitcoin to other company stocks not just digital assets. Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, JPMorgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, Tesla, ExxonMobil, Walmart, Coca-Cola are a typical type of company stocks. Obviously it surpasses all digital asset you can think of. Gold is one hell of an asset that is difficult for Bitcoin to surpass in terms of market capitalization. However, Bitcoin is very promising and in the nearest future we should expect more from it.

I asked chatgpt to plot a graph of the above table and here is the details: Looking at the above graph you can see two memorable moments for bitcoin (2013 and 2017), those are the most profitable years in bitcoin history, those who invested in bitcoin in 2012 and 2016 are really lucky In my opinion it is not advisable to compare bitcoin with S&P 500, it is like comparing the power of a Leopard to that of a Tiger, rather we can compare bitcoin to gold, I think that is the direction bitcoin is headed (digital gold).

Of course bitcoin gonna win, it's pretty obvious. But can't deny that S&P is a good alternative if you want to just put money and never think about it while letting it grow. The one thing that I like with bitcoin is the explosive growth, You can be cashing out your profit at bullrun and come back 3 years later at the accumulation phase of bear market to get massive gain within just 1 year. The only asset that can do that so far is bitcoin, the seasonal bullrun is truly a a big opportunity for those who knows how to get advantage.

Everything now points at what bitcoin is and how it could be used for the same benefits we all wanted, with this results and many more to come in the near future, bitcoin has always been advancing from one stage to another and that is why the government and corporate organizations now chose to set their reserve in bitcoin, because they wanted to be part of the great future coming on to be the more.
