I’ve got my mining setup in the garage, and it gets super hot in there during the summer.
I was thinking about building a sealed-off area in the garage or maybe using a grow tent to cool that space down. My plan is to pull in the air from the miners through some air ducts connected to the cooled area.
Has anyone tried something like this before?
Appreciate any advice.
If you ask me, using air conditioning to cool a side room instead of the garage itself might seem silly. You should think about efficiency. The goal here is to get rid of excess heat without spending much money to do it and air conditioners gobble up huge amounts of electricity, so they're not ideal for cheap cooling. Sometimes you have to think outside the box if you want to maximize profits.
Will it work? Yes.
But when using AC to cool miners keep in mind you are going to burning more power to run them so that cuts into profits.
Also you have to have a spare or risk bad things potentially happening if loose your cooling and the farm keeps running. Miners *should* shutdown at overheat. But should and do are 2 different words.
Also, how is the humidity where you are?

yeah the farm runs solidly. enough air in along with some ac in works.
our setup has about 500,000 btu of heat.
the two acs do 72,000 btu of cooling.
and tons of fans exhale the heat.
bringing in cool air is okay. but exhaling heat is important.
how many miners do you have?
Can it work? Of course it can!
But you haven't told us how much heat you're making there, you have 4 S9 or 30 S19 there, when you say summer is that 30C or 45C outside?
The thing is that in extreme situations you might have to spend( depending on the electricity price) too much of a percentage on cooling, so maybe just doubling the air flow would be a cheaper and just as effective solution.
And the machine numbers and their watts will also give a clue on the tent/room solution, I personally would always feel on edge knowing there are 25kw running in a 2 cubic meter oversized pot bag.
