So the forum's been renamed to Dollar Forum and this section is all about Dollar talk. Let’s chat about what’s been going on with the dollar today.
For more than 11 years here, the dollar has been the king over our local currency, driving up prices on imports like goods, fuel, gas, and crude oil. Because of those price hikes, local farmers have had to raise their prices to keep up with demand, which has really cranked up the poverty levels in our country. To save money, the government has cut back on jobs. Combine that with soaring living costs and inflation, and it’s just brutal out there. Unemployed folks can only get by if prices for goods and services drop significantly.
But here’s some good news: this morning, the radio and TV announced that the dollar is no longer at $1/N1,417.60, but now it's $1/N1. That means I could use $100 to buy two cars and still have change left over to build a house. Sounds simple, right? The government is working hard to make sure prices for goods and services drop quickly, so we can all enjoy living here.
What’s it looking like from your side? Hoping April brings good luck to everyone.

I have more than $100 and it seems you and I are from the same country, I am rich baaabyyyy, I am going for a lambo, yes I have that much USDT in my wallet right now, this is good news.
I wish I sold all the remaining Bitcoin I have in the month of march, damn it ! But anyways, I have thousands of dollars left, finally my dream have come true hahaha.
I hope that many members on here don't fade the power of USD, I hope you have all sold your Bitcoin, come to think of it, the timing feels right, because Bitcoin is dumping and taking profits off Bitcoin was the best call.
The US. dollar and other fiat currencies have very high inflation rates so that their purchasing powers decline considerably over time. Two charts for the US dollar and satoshi per dollar can depict this fact for you.
Governments don't fix anything and they have been printing more fiat currencies over time, so it passes the ball of chance to Bitcoin and people who are ready to accumulate more bitcoins over time.
The purchasing power of the US. Dollar over time.

What's $1 can buy last year will cost about 4 to 5 dollars this year, this shows that inflation is very possible and is the major reason why we cannot trust the entire system with the Fiat currency we are using, but ever the emergence of Bitcoin, things I've been changing for good, because the value of 1 bitcoin still remains to same and increases over time, this makes it impossible to be manipulated in a decentralized market, instead of a conventional traditional market.
I saw this dollar discussion board and the first thing that popped into my mind after being a member in this forum for a while now is that, it is April fool prank.
Am sure we would get to see a revert to the original name and color display once today is over.
I really wish though that $1 could be equal to 100naira in my local currency, but as at today, the fuel price has continued rising because am sure inflation doesn't mind the times or seasons we celebrate, instead marketers would take advantage to make more profit since we already in the Easter period.
If dollar loses its value now, it means the world power, U.S has lost its power and influence over their currency and the world and that also means the wealth gap would be bridged to entertain more millionaires with funds in the bank or in the wallets.
Oh man, this was a good one by theymos and it has so much symbolism. The dollar has been on the constant decline ever since they took it off the gold standard. Its pretty crazy to think about what money and I mean real money used to be. Silver and gold. The cheapening of it and the inflation of it via printers that go brrrrrrr are always and forever the silent theft of a now corrupt system that enslaved its own for selfish gain. People dont know this they dont understand or recognize the history because most never took the time to educate themselves on the subject. The move from silver and gold to paper and then plastic and now via the blockchain is something I find so incredibly fascinating. Its why I also love the different types of currency whether it be notes or collectibles. We are living in very historic times for $$$$
