Hey everyone, I’ve got a Canaan Avalonminer 1166 Pro and it's super loud. I’m thinking about building an enclosure for it. Their website has some reference images: check it out at canaan.io. Also, here’s another link showing how awkward its shape is: imgur.com/a/O3J89BQ. This ASIC has two fans stacked, which makes things tricky compared to others like the S9 that just have one fan on each side. I need to design something that allows for a 6" duct on one end for the exhaust to go outside. I’m struggling to find a good way to fit this oddly shaped miner inside an enclosure while ensuring the fans and PSU have enough airflow. The stacked fans and the misaligned PSU make it hard to just attach a duct directly to the fan. I’ve been looking into a register box (imgur.com/a/x66QBte) that’s 10" x 10" to 8", but it doesn't completely encompass the miner's height, even though it covers its width. There’s a slight gap between the miner and the box, but I could use foil tape to seal that up. A bit of a hack, I guess. I’m really aiming for noise reduction, so ideally, I want to avoid having 8" circular holes on both sides for intake and exhaust, since that could let out a lot of noise. Maybe using an 8" to 6" reducer duct would work better and minimize the hole sizes in the enclosure. Here’s a sketch of what I'm envisioning: imgur.com/a/az4KaUi.

I have also considered using 10"x6"x6" register boxes on the intake side instead, and this would cover just the fans (plus a small gap to the side that I would shut with foil tape). I would add holes in the cooler lined up with the PSU intake vents that I would fill with PVC piping to allow intake air to the PSU. This would allow me to not need a 8" to 6" reducer on the intake side. I am not sure how long the 10"x6"x6" register boxes measure, but if we assume it is the same size as the 10"x10"x8" register boxes then that makes it also 6.5" and reduces the total size of this enclosure to be ~31.5"
