I came across this article that mentioned a guy who ended his life because he lost the key phrase to his Bitcoin wallet. He had a significant amount of Bitcoin saved there, and he just couldn’t handle it. It got me thinking... as long as you’re alive, there’s always hope. You can’t just throw away the life you were given, no matter how tough things get. Even if you’re feeling down, Bitcoin will still be around. What do you guys think? Imagine you lost your key phrase by accident. What would you do first? As for me, I’d probably just sleep the whole day away, wake up, and then go back to sleep until I forget about it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

Misleading title, he didn't commit suicide because of bitcoin he did that because of his irresponsible behaviour. I am accumulating bitcoin for almost 2 cycles so if I lose the keys to all of them then it will definitely hurt me financially and can even go broke stage but this isn't the first time for me so I will say I will find a way to come out of this and this isn't the end of the world. Lost money, it can be earned again but lost the life then it is the end.

Once you lost your private keys, then everything could lead into losing your bitcoin. And when that happens, in my case, I think I would be very depressed and frustrated. So I have to buy again and hold, and just repeat the process, that's the only way so that frustration will be lessen in time. Committing suicide, that's just an act of foolish and irresponsible individuals. We may lose our bitcoin, buy hey bitcoin is not a do or die. We can proceed to earning again with bitcoin, or shift into other investments that we think there is less risk and less stress if ever. But never reach to end your life, there's always a solution to every problem given in life.

Is there a link to the news you mentioned? Especially when someone dies, why would you put a laughing emoji there? smh. But I feel sorry for that person. However, let's be clear here, his death wasn't caused by Bitcoin, but by his negligence, those are two different things. If someone loses the private key to their wallet, it's their failure to safeguard their private key, and Bitcoin can't be blamed for that. Keeping your private key safe is your own responsibility as the wallet owner. That's why it's important to properly secure your private key to prevent something like that from happening.

I hope you don't experience it, anyway. You didn't attach any source for the claim. If you had, we would have known why he really committed suicide. It could be  that the funds in BTC weren't his, but belonged to creditors or investors who might have invested in his product or whatever service he's offering. Another could have been that  it was his entire life savings, but that shouldn't be enough to lead to suicide. It is not something particularly interesting to speculate about, but for someone to commit suicide, it must have hit hard. Since you gave us no source, it’s hard to understand what really happened. You should consider  fixing your title btw.

It’s so painful to lose bitcoin that’s why we are not suppose to joke with our seed phrase. When we are investing in bitcoin we should also learn to properly store our bitcoin, because it’s of no use to invest when you still going to lose the bitcoin at the end. I don’t know why people do think committing suicide is going to solve a problem after something bad happens. It’s so painful losing bitcoin, but if you are alive you will be able to get back the bitcoin which you lost, so why committing suicide? No matter the condition which we are, we should always know that suicide isn’t an option, there is other ways to figure things out and suicide shouldn’t be an option.

You might want to adjust the title a bit so as to fit with the actual context. In as much as losing your keys is same as losing your coins, Bitcoin doesn't have to take the blame here. If you have plans on practicing self custody, then you should know what you're signing up for, and it demands your responsibility. On the other hand, commiting suicide was never the best option, but the truth is, some financial related mistakes like this are difficult, and sometimes, impossible to make a comeback(depending on how much was lost). Although, you didn't provide a link for us to read more of the story, but I just want to assume that the person probably lost majority of his funds, which resulted to him making such decision. I really don't hope to be in such position, because some cases might just be far more than taking a sleep to relieve yourself.

Money is an emotion for everyone. He didn't commit suicide because he lost his wallet keys. He committed suicide because he lost a large amount of money which left him financially very weak or he lost an amount of money which he could not afford to lose. Because of this he could not control his emotions and he could not control himself. And so he may decide to commit suicide immediately. Such incidents happen a lot. By the way, where did you read this article? Can you provide the source link?

His death was not caused by negligence but hopelessness. Some people have lost an amount that is higher than the one he lost. Yet they remained hopeful and so had reasons to keep living. Some people have not just lost money, but entire family members in an accident. But they didn't kill themselves because with determination, one can recover all that was lost. If I lose such an amount, I might have to move to a rural area to be close to nature. I find peace and stregnt when I am close to nature.    I feel sorry for the relatives of people who commit suicide because they are the ones who suffer the pain.

If you commit suicide just because you lost your private keys, then you value more your money more than your life, and having that mindset will never lead you into success and real profits. I have seen how people nowadays are so much motivated to make money, to the extent of pushing theirselves to be more greedy and materialistic in nature. So I don't get surprised taking their life when they commit a serious mistake that led to the loss of their bitcoins. When they could have look for a bigger solution and deal it positively, than to stay hopeless and end their own life.

If this suppose to be funny and shining teeth or it's me that doesn't understand what this emoji represents, this is clearly laugh which is wrong. You didn't specify amount that is there for the person to take his life. Some people life savings is on Bitcoin, they have done all they could to accumulate plenty of Bitcoin, it's going to be sad moment of after all you have work for all your life and then you wake up one day and see that the seed phrase and private keys can't be accessible, even me I will broke down of such happen to me. I..can't imagine myself been a victim like the guy that lost access but I'm some years old and knows that one way back up isn't the best way to back up your wallet to avoid single points of failure. You are hidding your seed phrase for maximum security only to lock it for forever and that's going to hurt. I will prefer seeing my Bitcoin spent by another person than lock forever, you will just be checking when the price is running and wouldn't be able to sell.

You should have included the article you read so that it validates what you are saying. I will not kill myself if I lose the seed phrase even though it has a lot of bitcoins in it, for me it is stupid to commit suicide due to your own negligence. Losing a lot of bitcoin is sure you will be stressed and insomnia because it is difficult to forget it especially when prices are high, you need to do a new one where you start buying bitcoin again.

Someone somewhere lost family members, only him as a survival to generations, no home nothing but still living and someone with lost seed phrase couldn't bare the pain and nothing else to do than commit suicide, well we can't just be careless of such things of importance but if it eventually gets lost, is there no other reason to live? well the person the post is refering to knows why he commited suicide not just bitcoin, and additionally this title is quite sounding like a bait but it's not. Well I pray I don't get to experience such heart break.

No matter how long you choose to sleep @OP the thought of losing phase key isn't going away any time soon so it's better to just deal with it at once instead of avoiding it, he committed suicide because he lost his phrase key not because of Bitcoin and that was a very bad decision to take because why taking your own life for a seed phrase just because you have Bitcoin in it? The same Bitcoin that you can still accumulate if you start over again. It's not easy though but I wouldn't take my life for losing something I worked for and can still work to get it again even though it takes me years to achieve it.

It's not because of bitcoin, but this guy committed suicide because he lacks the knowledge and understanding on how to deal with bitcoin. Losing those phrase key might be very devastating, but you can always start buying bitcoin again and even exceed the amount of your initial total of bitcoin. So obviously, no amount of problem will cost your life, only God is capable for that. People like this do not need to invest as they cannot manage the risks, but its better if they focus on working on their individual jobs and improve their lives.

If you haven't been in this kind of situation before, don't take as a laughing stock for those who did the awful things because they lost their Bitcoin. I know of someone who lost their Bitcoin because of misplaced private keys, they fall sick for weeks, they even got depressed before they could let go of the pain. But as first, it was as if they are losing their mind. If not of the help of those around them, to talk them out of the situation, I think they would have ended their life because of the pain of the lost Bitcoin they had

Don't come to align yourself with the way others have the wrong mentality about how the security of their assets is being handled, also, if we had done this well and in a proper way, we need to seal it completely by ensuring we have more than one means we use in saving our seed phrase or private keys, because we are not going to like it if we lose contact with the only means we used in saving these keys.

Is there no link to this story? I've checked online, and I couldn't find anything. This is the reason it's very important to have multiple backups in different locations in case of unforeseen events like fire, flood, earthquake or whatever it may be. I've my seed phrase stored in multiple locations. If it happens that I lose my seed phrase at the current location I'm at, I can always retrieve it from the second or third location and access my fund.

Alright, let keep the suicide aside and make correction to the reason why he commited suicide which literally wasn't because of bitcoin but because he lost his keys from his irresponsible practice of safekeeping it, which I think should be one of the simplest things to do, having your keys stationed securely in different distant locations where just you alone can always have access to. All can't be lost at same time dude. So pathetic he had to end his life.

If its possible for you to replace your lost bitcoin, then it could also possible for the rest of those bitcoin investors. The problem here is that we should not deal our problem on our own but seek for help for those people who are aware of it, or ask advices and suggestions on how to deal it properly. Cutting your life is not your responsibility, but taking care of your investment and its full security, it is. However losing your seed phrase? That is far from losing your life as well as there's always a second chance to grow your bitcoin again.
