Honduras special zone gives Bitcoin a new status

So, less than two years after Bitcoin became legal tender, Próspera, a special economic area in Roatan, Honduras, just officially accepted Bitcoin as a way to measure value. This means you can now use it to gauge the prices of goods and services. This was pushed forward by Jorge Colindres, who is the manager and tax commissioner of the Próspera Zone for Employment and Economic Development (ZEDE), on January 5. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on January 7, Colindres mentioned the goal behind this move was to provide more financial freedom for people and businesses in that zone.
