Hey everyone,
Can anyone shed some light on how to get a lightning node reconnected? I just set up a lightning channel in my Electrum wallet for the first time. At first, I was connected to 10 nodes, but after a couple of days, the connections just vanished. I'm pretty new to this, so I'm wondering if it will reconnect on its own or what? Do you think sharing the remote node ID could help? Is it safe to put that info out there? Appreciate any advice!

When you create a channel, it's between you and one node. Were these 10 nodes perhaps Electrum servers you're connected to?
Is the channel closed, or did the other node simply go offline? You can check if the channel is closed by looking at the channel opening transaction ID in a block explorer.
Asides any privacy concern you might have, it is safe to share either the node ID or the TXID.

Have you changed any settings lately?
Specially "Use trampoline routing" setting which will seemingly remove the lightning icon and connection count in the GUI.
But don't fret if you did since it's still connected to LN, it's just doesn't need to map the entire network.
To be concise, your channel wasn't connected to 10 nodes; it's 1-1, your (Electrum) and your selected remote node.
The "Connected to N peers" that you had been seeing in the Lightning network icon was your lightning node's (electrum is your lightning node) connection.
That GUI element isn't available if the setting I've mentioned is ticked. (recommended to enable)
