Is Roger Ver totally losing it? (this thread is about Marshall Long)

EDIT (12-26-16): Sorry for bringing up Roger's name. There’s no way in hell that Roger Ver should be hanging around with Marshall Long, who’s just as shady as Leroy Fodor, John Fitzpatrick, and Craig Wright. Also, happy belated birthday to Josh Zerlan. This Marshall Long guy has the audacity to say he owns the biggest bitcoin mining farm in North America, claiming it's the sixth largest globally and running at nearly zero energy costs off the grid. He’s also touted himself as a co-founder of Cryptsy, while being linked to Mintsy and Project Investor as their CTO, rubbing elbows with Josh Garza of GAW and other sketchy crypto projects that have left many enthusiasts with empty wallets worth millions. Marshall also brags about having a drone business in Cleveland, Ohio. The reality? He just helped build the website for his high school buddy’s drone company. He claims to have fitness businesses too, but again, all he did was create their websites. He says he’s been in Bitcoin since 2009, but like Leroy Fodor, there’s zero proof of that. The facts show he was just a worker at a spray booth plant in Texas back in 2011, and later he managed to help with their website, which eventually got dropped for a better one made by a more skilled webmaster.

Roger Ver is an idiot. He got rich for owning bitcoin early, doing absolutely nothing to earn his wealth. He only gets attention for being rich, and has never benefited the community positively. All he does is to earn more money and earn himself a reputation. He deserves the ridicule.

The make-believe CTO and/or owner of various entities first piqued my interest back in GAW heyday when he brokered a deal between MAT (scammers) and GAW (LOL) so he's really an upstanding businessman by all accounts. Marshall's side of the story: PERIOD. Yes. That's all he did, right? Provided specs to his buddy Joshua Homero Garza. Yeah... Edited 2020-11-28 to fix a broken image ... and that's just a tiny fraction of all the MAT/GAW contract negotiations, which among other things included Marshall trying to be a "neutral" escrow in the transaction. Which in turn is just a tiny fraction of all the Marshall/Homero bullshit that was going on for months and included then-Cryptsy-CTO helping Garza build Paycoin, the crown jewel of his scams, and also advising Garza on getting his scams offshore. I respectably disagree with your sentiment about Roger, with my concern being Marshall Long. Your assessment may be correct, but I'm not privy to your truism. Please accept my apology in that regard, and thanks for weighing in.

Maybe it's just me being  Roger Ver hater, but his actions just keep bringing negative attention to bitcoin.

Even though I don't echo your sentiment, I'm sure others do, again, respecting your position. Aside: I still love BitPay in spite of being highly critical of them a few months back.

As far as scammers go one could say birds of a feather flock together. Roger Ver certainly has a more negative impact on the community than Marshall as far as I'm concerned. Dude is a sell-out for his corporate buddies and seemingly insists on squandering whatever is left of his Bitcoin fortune on failed platforms and projects promoting more scams.

Roger Ver is a tool. I still laugh at the time he had a days long public meltdown on here and reddit over a $50 mistake that was made by his company or whatever. I need to find the link to that again.

i agree with the part where he didn't had to do much in order to be rich from bitcoin since he is a very early adopter. but he is invested in several trusted and respected bitcoin companies. don't forget that. every person is looking out to earn more, can't see what's wrong with that.

What's wrong with what Roger does is that he tries to portray himself as bitcoin Jesus while all he does is practice his greed. In the end, every time something he does hits the headlines it's something that would bring negative attention to bitcoin. TL;DR: Investing is OK, being pretentious about it isn't.
