Issue with Receiving Addresses on OneKey Desktop/Browser/Android

Hey everyone, I've got a OneKey Classic 1s cold wallet and it seems to be functioning fine overall, but there's something that's throwing me off. I sent some bitcoin from my hot wallet to this cold wallet, and now when I hit the "receive" button in the OneKey app, it just keeps bringing up the same first address for all my transactions. I tried using it twice and for a third transfer, the app suggests that same address again. This issue pops up on the browser extension, the mac app, and the android app as well. I even cleared the app cache, reset everything, and rebooted my OneKey device. To troubleshoot, I imported the wallet in watch-only mode into Sparrow and everything functions as it should. When I send bitcoin, it grabs the first unused address from the list (it’s Nested SegWit) and I can verify that it picks the correct address through the cold wallet with a USB connection. I've also merged some UTXOs using Sparrow to an unused address it picked out correctly from the address list. The OneKey app reflects the right balance, but when I check the address for the consolidation transaction, it doesn’t show it as linked to this wallet. Is this normal behavior for the OneKey app, or could this be a bug? Cheers, anhilde

It looks like it only "shows" one receiving address. They have this Feature Request issue about being able to use different addresses in their GitHub repository for almost 2 years now and it's still open. Link: [Feature] BTC NEW ADDRESS EVERYTIME WANT TO RECIEVE Based from the behavior above, it may not be a bug but a limitation. In one of their article (link), they tagged the other addresses as "Sub-Address" which suggests that it's still capable of spending from those since it's still an HD wallet. But since you only have one receiving address in the front-end, the transaction doesn't show it as your receiving address even though its amount is accounted to your total balance.

Thanks for the link, that clears it up. I commented the feature request. Two lessons learned: don't listen too much to bitcoin youtubers and don't buy wallets from OneKey. Pretty disappointing, I wonder where else they cut cornsers. Best Regards, andre

@anhilde and @helen628young I just checked their app and it appears that there's a workaround to generate new addresses on the OneKey app, but it requires adding new accounts: Note: Not the best option if you want to consolidate in the future! Select your account # from the top left corner > Either use the "add account" button or click "edit" from the top right corner and choose "bulk add accounts" > Choose its derivation path > Select the number of addresses that you want > Confirm.

...and troublesome to restore and manage in other hardware wallets/clients. They better off using other compatible clients like Electrum/Sparrow than its official client to manage their wallet's bitcoins than resort to multiple account derivations. It's littered with "features" anyways so it's better to use it exclusively for Altcoins.
