Got a question about my Bitcoin Merch Mars Lander. It's throwing a ton of hardware errors while mining.
Here are my Mars Lander stats after mining for almost 2 days:
Accepted: 26,016
Rejected: 5
Hardware Errors: 10,928
So, that gives me a ~42% hardware error rate, which feels way too high. It's running at an average of 288 MH/s. Just to be sure, I reached out to Idan Abada from Bitcoin Merch and here’s what he said:
"Hardware errors happen sometimes. I see 289 GH/s, and the stated hash rate is 250. You're doing great!"
When I pointed out that it’s a 50% hardware error rate, he replied:
"Yep, as long as your hash rate is normal, and yours is really high, that’s awesome!"
So, is a 42% hardware error rate normal for mining at around 288 MH/s? Seems like there's something wrong with the hardware to me.

I think the hardware errors came from overheating did you overclocked the miner?
Maybe the power supply is not giving enough power you might need to replace it.
Or I suggest try to downclock your miner and let's see if it could reduce the hardware errors.

For me, it is not ok if the miner reaches almost 50% of the hardware error but this issue can be solved and according to your hashrate for me, it looks fine.
Sometimes this issue comes up on the first run and the miner needs to be warmed up first to get rid of this issue. So I suggest try to reboot the miner after warmup and now monitor the hardware error. If the issue is still there then downclock the miner.
May I know how do you check the status for using Mars Lander
Thanks

Go to to the ip address of the Mars lander followed by :8080 in your web browser.
You can also SSH into it (username "pi", password "raspberry"). Once in, type "sudo screen -list" and you will be showna few screen instances. Connect to the one that is histing CGMiner and you will get access to CGMiner. You do this by typing "screen -r ###" (### being the screen instance number).
