issues with recovery and network on blockchain

I'm having trouble accessing my wallet on blockchain. I keep getting a "recovery error" after entering my recovery phrase, and then it just stopped sending me verification emails. Here's what went down: 1. When I first tried to log in, I got a verification email. But clicking on the verify device button just sent me back to the verification page to submit again. This happened five times, and then the emails stopped completely. At one point, I saw a pop up saying Axioerror, not sure what that's about. 2. I switched to my phone and got a pop up saying "we cannot connect to our server." 3. I threw in the towel and decided to wait until the next morning to try again with my seed phrase. Now I'm just getting "recovery error" and "network error" after setting a new password. I've tried using Chrome, but it's still the same issue. I'm out of ideas, any suggestions?

Blockchain.com has been always a buggy wallet. Since you have your seed phrase, there's nothing to worry about. You can simply import your wallet into other softwares like electrum and get access to your fund. I also recommend you to create a new wallet after getting access to your fund and move all your fund to that. Blockchain.com is close-source and we don't know how the keys are generated in that. Warning: Download electrum only from its official website.

That's good to know. Thank you for the reply.  I will most likely do that once I gain access.   Is this a situation where I just need to wait and the problem will fix itself or is there something I need to do to fix this and gain access to my blockchain wallet? thanks again I reached out to blockchain support and they responded with a link that doesn't work. https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/sections/4585308268948-Account-Verification Kinda crazy. Has this happened to anyone else. What was the outcome?

Honestly, I don't recommend using blockchain.com as a wallet because it's web-based, and anytime hackers can attack an online wallet like blockchain.com. Also, there are many users having issues using blockchain, including me. So I don't know if there's a way to fix this by yourself, but you can report the issue to their support. Check this link below to report the issue. - https://support.blockchain.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Do not expect a quick response because it can take weeks or months. I'd like to suggest that maybe your ISP is blocking blockchain.com servers. Would you mind to try changing your DNS to Cloudflare? It might be able to fix your issue, but if it's not, then the best solution is to import your seed to Electrum as suggested above.

Okay. Could you explain what importing my seed into electrum will do.  Will that recover my wallet?

If the seed you are talking about is your wallet seed and not the blockchain.com recovery phrase which is used to recover your lost or forgotten password, then you can import it into Electrum or any other well-known wallet to recover your wallet and have full control over it and you won’t have to worry about blockchain’s server errors (which are very common) anymore. As far as I know, Blockchain.com generates bip39 seeds, so you will need to tick the bip39 option when importing the seed into Electrum.

Thank you.  So the 12 word phrase password may not be for the wallet but just to recover your password for the blockchain site?   I have the blockchain app on my phone.  When I tried to use it, it did say we cannot connect to server.   So if it's an issue with the ISP I'm using, could I just try to login in on another server away from mine with my phone app?

We're not sure until you try changing your DNS or the problem could be their server side. About the 12 word phrase it's not a password but a backup seed even you forgot your password in your blockchain account you can use your 12 word seed to recover your wallet. Why not try what we suggested above recovering your wallet on Electrum should be easy. Just install it in your phone and restore your seed with BIP39 option after that you should be able to see your wallet.

Your seed phrase (the series of 12 words) can generate all your private keys and is all you need to recover your wallet. As already said above, just import your seed phrase into electrum and provided that it's the correct seed phrase, you will have access to your fund.

Thanks Everyone, I've created the electrum wallet.  I assume the big green dot in lower left history window is the current balance, correct? Also, by doing this, have my funds been permanently removed from the web wallet on the blockchain site?

Right. If you have imported your wallet into electrum successfully, you should see your balance at the bottom left corner of the window. No. By importing your seed phrase into electrum, you don't move your fund and you only gain access to your fund in a new software. Take note that you can have access to the same wallet through multiple applications at the same time.

Okay. I think I understand, what you're saying is the funds remain on the blockchain, but now I have access through a new platform, electrum. Sorry for the question. This is all very confusing to me. Someone earlier in the post stated that have a blockchain wallet is dangerous due to it being web based and hackers can get to it. So what I'm asking is if my funds are now secure form that?  Or at the very least more secure?

Right. Your bitcoin is always on the blockchain (By blockchain, I mean a ledger that include all bitcoin transactions, not blockchain.com website). Non-custodial wallets like electrum are tools that give you access to yout coins. That's right. You should always avoid web wallets especially a close-source wallet like blockchain.com. No. You are still using the same wallet and your keys have been generated by blockchain.com. I recommend you to create a new wallet in electrum, make a transaction and move all your fund to the new wallet. Don't forget to keep the seed phrase of your new wallet somewhere safe. In this way, you can make your wallet safer (but not 100% safe, because any online wallet is prone to hacking).

To others who (will) have the same issue, even though it's sent by their official support, do not follow the instructions in the link below: That link only points to the support page where articles about "Account Verification" (KYC-related) are posted. (it's good that they sent an outdated direct link) But the issue was you can't log-in due to various client/server-side connection errors. It's as if they're forcing KYC to select non-trading-wallet users that do not want to go through their KYC requirements even though it's totally unrelated to the main issue. (It's not necessary and wont solve this topic's specific issue)

Your wallet on blockchain.com is still there, you are just accessing it from a different wallet. So even if you have the electrum setup with funds, your old wallet with blockchain.com still exist. /KX
