Antminer S19J Pro+ with 122 Th is out now. It only needs one power cable?! Do you think it can be overclocked or underclocked? What does having just one power cable mean for performance? I'd love to hear your opinions or how it stacks up against other models and brands. Let's chat!

Old news and already brought up in the 2023 Difficulty thread Key point is that the input voltage is now 25A at 220-277VAC which is perfect for 3-phase 480V systems  but of course screws folks running 200-208V. Also uses a custom power inlet connector that BM does NOT give the spec on.

If you read the link shared by the OP you can go to specifications and they do have this As you can see 200-277 power AC input that's the voltage limit so 208v should be compatible. About the single connector as you can see on the image they do only have a single connector/socket for power unlike their older version s19 pro has two power connector/socket.

Connector should be ok as it is rated 25A, which is 5.2KW on 208V. Continuous load 80% is around 4KW. As the unit pulls around 3-3.5KW it is in the safe zone even with 208V.

S19j Pro+ is a good model, but I prefer S19 XP Hyd.  250T with 20.8J/T, the specification is awesome.

Indeed but it seems one unit can't be had :-)

Replying to both of you.  The reason it can't be had in a single is because it is designed to run in the Antspace environment.  A single unit does not come with a radiator and all of the components and you can't just throw a little 360mm radiator and bs pump to cool the thing.  It is a 5200W miner which means you have to be able to dissipate 5200W of power.  Power = heat, and think of it this way a full watercooled PC using the highest TDP CPU and GPU setup is still under 700W (and I'm being nice on that) that still runs "warm", imagine it trying to keep up with something that requires a bare minimum of 7 times the amount of power.

a custom watercooling setup is not impossible

I mean anything is possible but the work to cool just a single 5000w unit (17000BTU/hr of cooling needed) is kind of pointless.  Just would be smarter and cheaper to buy multiple non-watercooled units.  Don't get me wrong the performance and everything is nice but to have a single unit vs multiple non-watercooled that ends up hashing more for the same price just seems smarter.

One watercooled unit that is more efficient than 2 nonwatercooled is cheaper 100Th for 3000W or 250Th for 5200W. Its obviously cheaper

three 100 pros can run on low and do 24-25 watts and 80th so 240th burning 6000 watts vs  250th burning 5200 watts is a better way to compare. and the water cooled is cheaper to run but not by much since s pump and raditor system will cost you money. octominer sells an all in one cooler that will work it cost 2000 plus import tax. it would fit and cool the hydro. three air units are about 5100 . if somone sells you a single hydro for 5000 add 2000 for the coller you are about 2000 dollars behind and maybe 20kwatts a day are saved that is 1-2 dollars. so in 1000 to 2000 days the hydrocoller wins. but if prices of btc s jump hard you could mine the three air coller at 100th which is 300 th which would make more miney every day even though you burn more watt. and the hydrocooler would never catch up

Yes however as with the s19 air cooled, there will be firmware to increase efficiency for the xp hydro im sure and if you know of 3 units new for 5100 please let me know 🙂

LOL!  No there will not be...  Not officially from Bitmain that's for damn sure!  The XP Hydro is a datacenter solution...  It's not meant to be turned down that's why you can't even buy a single unit from them.  I know you keep thinking that will change I am sure.  You are living in a dream world about Bitmain that's for sure.

I was obviously talking about 3rd party firmware vendors

I hope you are aware the Hydros need 3 phase 380V power... Indeed i saw an aftermarket water cooling solution for a single unit half a year ago, Is it worth it? I'm not sure... Of course they want you to buy the container for the miners as well. Getting a single unit is possible in the second hand market, again, i doubt its worth the trouble. Just get two 125T units...

He will come back with how he can convert something in his house to a 3 phase 380v breaker/plug and just implement it with his custom watercooled solution to work in place of the AntSpace solution they were designed for.  Still spending so much more to make it work but "Hey he will save that $1 in power" instead of just understanding what everyone is trying to say that it's cheaper and easier to run 2x 125T units.  To each their own I guess?

My argument is over a solution that will be ran for at least 5 years, the long run Three phase power is something which wasnt noticed however still it is not difficult or a big job at all to upgrade to three phase power in a home setting
