looking for help with bitcoinCore hd wallet

Hey everyone, I need some assistance here. How can I get my bitcoins back from my HD wallet using Bitcoin Core? It's a hierarchical deterministic wallet and I can't find my bitcoins or satoshis. The wallet's pretty old and has a big key pool! What commands do I need to run? Is there a good resource out there to learn about HD wallets? Any help would be appreciated!
