If you want to mine bitcoin, you will need to buy ASIC. This machine is very power and generated higher hash rates. Buy the new ones that produces more hash rates starting from S19 or higher version. You need cheap electricity. The ASIC consume electricity a lot. You will need to calculate the electricity the machine will be consuming before buying it at all. You can not mine bitcoin with GPU not to talk of CPU. NotFuzzyWarm provided a link, read it to understand more.

No, you will die before you mine a block.

Try using NiceHash, 2Miners or unmineable.com. You will mine other coins, but you will be able to receive rewards in bitcoins and other coins from the list of possible ones. Mining on a laptop is not profitable right now, but if you want to try it for learning, then do it.

Using the method @FP91G has suggested. If I were you, I would not bother doing anything as there is risk of damaging/frying your laptop too. It is not designed to mine crypto and just for the satoshi you are trying to look for, you might be in for a bigger loss.

Will I never mine a block with just one ASIC? Or, should I add my configured ASIC into a mining pool? Sorry in case it's not the right section to ask this question! I'm available to read/study the right thread if you send the link to me, thanks!

What is even the possibility of mining a block after death? With laptop, I do not think he can mine a block for eternity. The mining hash rate will still later increase and make it more difficult Using one ASIC that can generate over 100 Th/s will increase the chance but it better to join a mining pool instead. There are some solo miners that are still mining a block but their hash rate can be higher. I think it would be better to use like 1000 hash rate instead. You may be lucky. But why not join a mining pool instead which is better than taking chances?

If there is any application or software that the developers tag as being able to mine bitcoins, it is fake and should be avoided. The application or software was likely created to attract naive people who are interested in getting bitcoins or naive people who earned some shit tokens through applications on their phones or laptops.

The chance is extremely low, so it's almost impossible. Yes. Although i would recommend you to check whether it's possible to make profit (based on that ASIC and electricity price) using Bitcoin mining calculator. First of all, have you read thread mentioned by @NotFuzzyWarm ?

This is pretty clear, to mine Bitcoins efficiently, you need special machines called ASICs. These machines are very powerful and can produce high hash rates, which is very important for the Bitcoin mining process. For the best, buy newer versions, like you said S19 or higher, as they can produce higher hash rates. Although many people agree that Bitcoin mining with ASIC machines is the most efficient, I have a slightly different opinion. I think there are some things that could make ASIC machines less suitable for some miners, such as cost issues; ASIC machines do not have extraordinary performance, but the initial cost of purchasing these machines can be very high. Investment for small miners or individuals just starting out

They have a payout threshold though, OP needs to hit the range before he can be able to withdraw Bitcoin, I think with a laptop it will take forever unless it is a higher end laptop with RTX graphics card because even with the world fastest graphics cards you will be making $1 per day, it sucks this bad. Also OP expect your laptop to get very very hot, and do not blame anyone if the next day your laptop won't turn on, because laptops are not created to handle this crazy power usage around the clock, I suggest a better cooling method for the laptop and also do not use it to mine 24/7 per day. I know someone who mined 19 million Shiba inu using Unmineable platform, so yes it is doable using a graphics card and getting paid in BTC.

I have seen cases where a miner mined a block solo on multiple asics or even one, but those miners were very lucky. Any asic has a limited period of use and during these 3-5 years you probably won't mine anything solo, and further this asic will be as useless as S9 now.

Is it worse than the lottery? I read a bit about mining and different asics , so if you would invest in the newest mode wouldn't you have a chance of 1 in 2 million, and since a block is mined every 10 minutes instead of one week wouldn't that shorten the time? I don't know how to quantify the chances by the number of draws but looking strictly at number of, isn't that an average of 15 years if everyone would be solo mining with the latest model? I'm just asking not making a statement because I really don't know how to do the math on possibilities!

It's not as bad as lottery. Here's basic comparison and calculation. Powerball (US lottery game) offer win chance 1 in 292 million, https://powerball-megamillions.com/powerball/oddsAntminer S21 Hyd have 335 TH/s, https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-s21-hyd-335thCurrent hashrate on Bicoin network estimated around 672.3 EH/s, https://mempool.space/mining 672.3 EH/s is equal to 672.3 million TH/s. So one Antminer S21 Hyd is only about 0.0000498289...% or about 1/2006865... of all miner hashrate. So your estimation ("chance of 1 in 2 million") isn't wrong. But considering hashrate growth and newer hardware in the future, the actual chance would be quite lower.

I just realize after reading what I posted that I made another mistake comparing the two, not only the chances but also the winning, with a block you get $$300k with power ball I assume you get at least a few millions (not a US citizen so don't know how that works) and probably a ticket a day is less expensive than running a miner all day. I'm happy I was not that way off with my assumption on chances but I think in monetary terms I completely blew it, thanks again for troubles of doing the math!

Some miners use USB devices with 20-50 GH for solo mining and do not lose heart. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494124.0 Otherwise, this is a very good business, you can buy a lot of old ASICs, solder the chips and sell such mini devices for $150.

The Bitcoin mining process requires enormous computing power. Laptops generally don't have enough processing power to compete with specialized devices designed for mining, such as ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) or even powerful GPU graphics cards. The longer a laptop is used to mine bitcoin, the less processing power the device has. Moreover, with increasing difficulty levels and decreasing block rewards, it is difficult to earn significant Bitcoins with a laptop. It's possible to mine bitcoin with a laptop with limitations and of course the potential risk is greater.

Where does the processing power go? If you are talking about an increase in mining difficulty, then given the low hashrate of a modern laptop, an increase in difficulty in overall statistics for a month or two will not have a big impact on the result. The mining loss will be permanent.
