Mobile wallet clone of Litecoin

I've been struggling today trying to set up either litecoinj or the bitcoin kit from Horizontal System on Android. I cloned litecoinj and switched up the chainparams, but I keep running into issues with the genesis hash. Apparently, this is an issue when we try to adapt our chainparams for the latest litecoin version due to their updates. Bitcoin kit seems to be a more popular choice, but like, almost every example function I've tried gives me reference errors, even after fixing the imports. The coin we're working on now is based on a litecoin 0.15 clone, and I'm guessing there are some differences between the two libraries. Can anyone point me to some resources that could help? Just so you know, when I import the base litecoinj, everything works fine, but once I change the genesis values and stuff, it just doesn't cooperate.
