Hey, I’m looking for some guidance on getting back into my bitcoin core wallet. I kinda gave up on it a few years ago, but with the way things are going and my wife pushing me to check it out again, I thought I’d give it another shot. With three kids and prices going up everywhere, especially food, it’s becoming a bit of a necessity. Plus, my son plays rugby and eats like a champ. I think I remember my password or at least can guess it after a few tries. I’ve reinstalled bitcoin core to jog my memory. Problem is, I’ve switched computers four times since I last accessed the wallet, and I'm not sure where to enter my password. My email, address, and phone number are still the same though. Any tips would be super helpful! Tim.

Bitcoin core do not ask for email and phone number so I don't think it can help to recover your wallet password. What do you damn about this: You mean you can't find where to try your password? If you downloaded and imported your wallet.dat file to Bitcoin core if it is encrypted then it should ask for password then try your password. If it doesn't work you don't have a choice but to look for your password. You may have saved it to.txt somewhere on your PC/laptop. If you do not remember saving it to a text file or writing it on a piece of paper, brute-forcing your wallet is your last resort, but this will take days or weeks depending on how strong your password is. However, if you remember some of your password, you can speed up the process. Here's the guide: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/TUTORIAL.md#btcrecover-tutorial

Your first order of business is the install bitcoin core and allow it to synchronize with the blockchain.  Depending on your hardware and bandwidth, that could take anywhere from 36 to 72 hours, or more if you have a really slow hard drive.  To sync the whole blockchain you'll need at least 703GB of free hard drive space. Once you're installation of core is synchronized you'll be able to import your wallet.dat file.  If the wallet is encrypted (password protected) you'll be asked for a password at during the process of importing it.

This means you did not back up your wallet password and bet that your brain and memory can help you to retrieve the wallet password anytime. It's terrible practice. In Bitcoin, you always must back up your wallets, backup your passwords, backup backup and make sure backups work for you too. If you don't have your wallet password backup, you will have to remember it, or brute force it later. If you fail to get the password, you can not open the wallet and can not access your private keys and bitcoins. [overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format.

When asking for tech support, try to stick to the relevant parts. Rugby, wifes and kids are irrelevant. You mentioned Bitcoin Core but also your email address and phone number. The latter two sound like you may have used Blockchain.info (now .com), and have nothing to do with Bitcoin Core. If you used Bitcoin Core, see if you still have your old wallet.dat on your computer. Without your wallet, your password is useless.

Bitcoin Core operates on your computer. Email address and phone number aren't relevant here. If you just want to try unlocking your wallet, you can do on console which accessed by clicking Window -> Console. Afterwards just enter, 300 refers to duration to keep the wallet unlocked, where you can change it with any number.

You only have the email, phone number but this information is enough to get wallet ID only and not access your coins. You must remember the password or find Recovery Phrase, it is 12 words or a file containing these phrases.
