So, I've got this Gekkoscience Newpac USB miner and I'm getting this error that says "GSH 0 failure". It started happening right after I updated to the latest cgminer code from github. A pool owner named Kano told me I had to switch to this new version if I wanted to keep mining on his pool. Just to clarify, I'm not overclocking at all. Actually, since the room temp is around 80 F, I'm underclocking it. I first set it to underclock at 50 MHz, but that led to a lot of errors and it kept going into "zombie" mode. Kinda odd since the new cgminer is supposed to fix those zombie issues. So then I switched to 80 MHz, which has been more stable, but I'm still dealing with some overheating, even without hitting zombie status. Anyone got any tips on how to sort this out?

Is that the USB miner Compac F with a hashrate of 300Gh/s? Then I think you need to follow the instruction that Kano provided from this link below - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5355470.msg58200639#msg58200639 Also, don't forget to scroll down a bit for troubleshooting.

How much air movement do you have going over the heatsinks? 100F with a lot of air moving is going to keep it cooler then 80F and dead still air. So make sure you have enough air moving over it. Also, make sure that the heatsink is tight. Heating and cooling over time could have caused the screws to back off a bit. -Dave
