Hey everyone, I used to be part of a service that let me buy a rig and they handled the mining for me. Setting it up wasn’t too tricky, but I’ve since moved on from that service. I think what I was doing was cloud mining since I didn’t have to buy any physical hardware. I’m curious if anyone can suggest any reliable companies or services that offer something similar? I’d like to buy a rig, maybe start with the cheapest option, connect it to my OKX account, let it run for a month or so to build up some earnings, and then transfer and sell those earnings on OKX. I’m still pretty new to this stuff, so sorry if my wording isn’t spot on! Does anyone have recommendations for a service like that? And preferably one that’s trustworthy? I’ve come across Nicehash does that sound familiar to anyone? Thanks a lot!

Cloud mining are scam. It is better you avoid it. If you can not afford mining equipments like ASIC and set up everything yourself, then just do not go for bitcoin mining if you want to avoid being scammed.

You are describing cloud mining, which is often a scam.  Be very cautious about any companies offering this kind of service.  You are better off buying your own hardware and mining yourself.  Nicehash is legit, but its a marketplace, not a cloud mining service.

Most of the cloud mining sites are scams only 2 sites that I know are legit where you can rent hash rates to specific algo. Check these two below - https://www.miningrigrentals.com/ - https://www.nicehash.com/pricing Binance also offers cloud mining but you can't rent any hashrate anymore because it's sold out. If you are still interested check them here https://pool.binance.com/en/cloud

You are better off purchasing the real Bitcoins and HODL. You are most likely going to make way more returns than even promised by the so-called could mining platforms. Chances are so high that you are going to be scammed.

Since few years ago, people describe cloud mining as either scam or not profitable. NiceHash and similar service usually isn't categorized as cloud mining, since 1. You can rent any specific amount of hashrate, with reasonable minimum amount. 2. No contract, where theoretically you can cancel and receive unused/remaining money. 3. The company generally don't own the mining hardware.

It is very easy to distinguish a fraudulent service from an honest one, but you must understand how mining works and know the prices. An honest service costs money for maintenance or it may be in the increased tariff for paying for electricity. Installing equipment takes time and costs about $ 140 per kilowatt. The owner of the data center should recoup the investment, and not engage in charity. Reduced tariffs are available for wholesale customers or miners with containers, but this is not your case. And think about the main question, if cloud services offer you such good conditions with free connection and inexpensive electricity, then why are all the miners not there yet?

If and only if you know a friend who have a huge mining farm and someone you can trust with your life (<I would still not) - only then think about investing on their farm as allow them to "cloud mine" for you. Sites that are selling you contracts for cloud mining, will be scams, I dont make any exceptions to that list, if its called cloud mining it is a scam. There are easier methods to get bitcoin, just one rig mining will never yield you any decent amount, you need many ASICs, PSUs, cheap electricity, cooling, maintenance, human resources (if big enough) and a plot of land and some government issues to wade through. Just buying bitcoin every few months on a dip is way easier.

I think there will soon be interesting mining ideas from large companies, not cloud scammers, but the conditions here will not be very attractive. I think that the profit will only come from selling the coins obtained at a higher price. I was once like you, looking for an easier way to mine Bitcoin in 2016, it landed me in trouble as I watched a few cloud mining platforms exiting the market, I lost some money to cloud mining businesses, don't do it, you've been warned, there is no real Bitcoin cloud mining services anymore, even if there is one they are not profitable anymore. If you have a job that's paying you monthly, use some percentage of your money to buy Bitcoin every month, this is a better mining like strategy, because if you buy an Asic miner you still need cheap electricity to run it, the heat and noise is also present, but buying some BTC  every month makes it easier. You can sell when Bitcoin makes a new all time high or you can hold for the long term, whatever you decide to do with your Bitcoin is up to you, avoid Asic mining Bitcoin.

If you can purchase the hardware then why do you need a service to mine for you? Besides the fact cloud mining is just scam you just gave money to someone for free in the past. Or you're talking about mining pools? Which are different and that's the only possible way to mine Bitcoin with the increased difficulty by combining the hash power of other miners from the pool for a small fee as commision. For the beginning you need cheap electric source and ASICs.
