If Epstein invented the light bulb, would you just stay in the dark?
What if planes were created by Osama bin Laden? Would you avoid flying forever?
If a cure for cancer came from Jeffrey Dahmer, would you let your loved ones die instead of taking that cure?
Even if Bitcoin was developed by a terrible person, it wouldn’t impact its function. It’s decentralized, open-source, and runs on tons of computers, totally out of the hands of its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Throughout history, some scientists committed awful acts to discover cures, yet we all benefit from those advancements today.
The saying about the enemies of your enemies being your friends exists for a reason.
Yin and Yang illustrate the ancient Chinese idea of opposing forces that balance each other out to create harmony.
The best inventions can emerge from the most flawed individuals. It’s the law that holds people accountable for their wrongdoings; no one is born a saint. We all make mistakes even after birth, and there’s no perfect person walking among us.
For those saying that if we knew who made Bitcoin, we’d never use it, you’re missing the point.
If eating something disgusting could cure a rare disease, would you do it? I’d still use Bitcoin even if it were created by Adolf Hitler, because it serves my needs. I can appreciate that he invented Bitcoin while still condemning his actions in history.

Things can be invented by many people who belong to different categories when you or society classify them as good or bad people but mostly scammers are pretty stupid so they are less likely able to invent something cool, and helpful for societies. They are only good at finding holes in laws, platforms for doing their exploitations and steal money of companies, someone else for their financial benefit.
Great things are invented by good people, in most invention, innovation, this is true while what will happen after that is diversifying but how it is used is not responsibility or fault of inventors. Like funs, fun powder were invented for good things but criminals use them for bad purposes while it's not responsibility of Alfred Nobel.
Bitcoin is Bitcoin, it was created by Satoshi Nakamoto and it has many great things to use for everyone. Who invented it is not important and won't change how we use Bitcoin blockchain.
i too am the advocate for differentiating the inventor from his invention.
your words speak volumes regarding that stance, however, if people knew BTC would be from someone that controversial - it would not help with its adoption and wider acceptance of it by the new people, because they would surely associate it with its inventor.

It doesnt really matter, because we dont even know him personally, we dont know his past or anything. So judging the technology based on the creator doesnt make sense.
People are investing in the technology, not in the person behind it. Thats why its open source, so anyone can audit it, check for bugs or flaws. And until now, nothing major has destroyed it. Thats also why the market cap already reached billions. Thats trust in the system, not in Satoshi Nakamoto.
Honestly, I dont really care who Satoshi is. Whether its Craig Wright, or even Donald Trump, thats not important to me. What matters is that the system works, and people still trust it after all these years.
It is true that whoever invented Bitcoin will not affect the future of the cryptocurrency, but whoever controls Bitcoin will. Currently, there are about 10 mining pools that control about 96% of the hashrate, and therefore, those who control Bitcoin are these pools, and if they are affected, decentralization will decrease significantly.
The more we keep saying that we don't need to know who satoshi is or whoever is behind the creation of Bitcoin, what is being needed by us has been given already and that is in the adoption for the use of a decentralized digital network for our day-to-day activities in the financial economy without being under the control of the centralized government authorities being in charge of our money or assets.
I hope no one shares the idea that there is a possibility that Jeffrey Epstein invented Bitcoin. By the way, I agree with your opinion, if someone invented something good, then their past doesn't matter in terms of invention, because a knife can be used for both, good and bad things, it depends on who uses it for what purpose.
Btw it's a little bit different from Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a bad reputation or at least the media and the government has been actively trying to tag Bitcoin as a tool of money laundering and illegal activities, so if we discover that the person who created Bitcoin is someone with a very bad past, it can probably influence Bitcoin's future.

I think that even black PR is still PR, it will find its followers anyway. Im not very concerned about the alleged stories about Bitcoins creators or what kind of people they were. The fact is that bitcoin has already secured its niche in society, and no alternative cryptocurrency can even come close to its level. Considering the essentially growing demand, the lack of strong competitive alternatives, and the already established habit among holders to keep bitcoin, I dont think theres much reason to worry that it will be rejected or banned by society.
This discussion stands between morality & value of the findings. Personally, I'm fine with it being true that Epstein is the man behind Bitcoin (BTC), as most users on this topic argue that the value is more important to pay attention to than anything else.
The modern world has a growing culture, for us in Asia, we have a term called "cancel culture" where people will not use a product, will not watch a content creator's content, will not invite a public figure to an event if they're proven to have made a fatal mistake.
If one day it's proven that Epstein is the man behind Bitcoin (BTC), I don't care, I will not follow even a large wave of Bitcoin (BTC) rejection.
The point is I don't care who created Bitcoin, and I don't care about the various wild theories that I often find, because in the end for me it is not about who created it but what he created to benefit the world, for all of us who have been enjoying it. We just need to preserve what he left behind without digging into his past. Epstein's story is nothing more than a classic
cycle of the internet where a sensation arises, goes viral, gets debated, sinks and then a new version emerges claiming to be Satoshi.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that people keep playing up this scandal and linking it to Bitcoin. People need to know that Epstein was connected to so many important people and so many projects-- but for some reason, people keep linking him to Bitcoin even though there is no evidence directly connecting Epstein to the development or funding of Bitcoin. He was only connected to a few core Bitcoin developers because he recognized that these people were experts in their field, but beyond that, there is no further information proving any real collaboration between Epstein and the development of Bitcoin. So I feel that people are overreacting to this.
What matters the most is that bitcoin cannot be manipulated by anyone, at least that is the beauty of decentralization, I would dismiss this Epstein creating bitcoin bullshit as another bad PR for bitcoin in the bear season. We have always seen things like this in the past and it had little or no effect on bitcoin.
Bitcoin is secure, transparent and decentralized. Has no central control, so how would a mere propaganda affect how it works and how it would continue to function? This too would pass and bitcoin would continue to wax stronger. I view this as another Trump action to crash the prices of bitcoin further, I could be wrong but not as wrong as the illiterates tying bitcoin efficiency to the mere propaganda.

People (and news) do it to make a flashy tag line and attract views / traction to their story.. nothing new
Criminals are prosecuted based on the crimes they committed, not for simply existing. If a criminal feeds hungry children but kills women at night, he would be prosecuted for murdering women; the act of feeding children won't be on trial, and neither will the act of feeding children be looked at as a bad thing.
It is the act that they committed that they will be prosecuted for.
So if the person who created Bitcoin turns out to be a serial killer or child trafficker, he should be jailed or killed for the crime he committed, not for creating Bitcoin.
We have had a similar conversation like this here before, and I mention few people who were awful human beings but made impactful inventions that made the lives in those fields easier.
If today, Satoshi's identity gets revealed, and later it is discovered that he committed a crime, I would personally campaign for him to face the penalty for the crime he committed, but that doesn't mean I can't use his invention.

The idea of remaining anonymous is one of the greatest idea in recent times that an inventor has ever made, if you check the scientific history of inventors, you will see that for every invention that made, it is been named after the inventor and the year it was created or the year they died, but for satoshi nakamoto he decided to remain anonymous, not only about the fact that people will want to dig his history, but people will also want to reach out to him also for him to do a similar team to them, creating the similar invention for them, because there are some certain humans beings that are very desperate when it comes to creating a rival intention, sometimes they can be state sponsored, so remaining anonymous naturally have killed all those unnecessary intentions.

He just went the easy and safe route, and a humble one at that..
Some would want all the fame he can get for creating something like BTC, yet Satoshi chose to be not such a man, but someone who respects himself and his time and effort
As long as there is needs people will keep using the technology no matter who invented it and the mentioned person is likely to be involved in the creation of bitcoin in my opinion rather it was just a political agenda from the mainstream media to damage the reputation of bitcoin.
Bitcoin is still the same bitcoin and it will remain as it is.

Exactly this is what I'm trying to explain other's. That if the creators are bad person than it won't eliminate the chance that he/she can't manipulate the system in future. Just blindly believing on things can bring disaster on future.
These majority miner's can shake the decentralized Bitcoin.

In the end, remember the healing inside the medicine bottle, not the doctor who prescribed it. Bitcoin is the sameeven if its creator remains in the shadows, the light spreads to the world. Anonymity was a stroke of genius for exactly that reason: foreseeing the debates in advance and leaving the work to stand on its own.
There has been no single piece of proof that Jeffrey Epstein is Satoshi. Some anti-Bitcoin forces are pushing this narrative just to gain attention or give Bitcoin a bad name. This connection to Bitcoin is simply because he donated money to MIT Media Lab, which was used to finance the MIT Digital Currency Initiative (DCI). Funds from DCI were used to pay some Bitcoin Core developers.
Meanwhile, he also donated to Harvard University, Columbia University, Isreali Army, and different political parties. Why is nobody attacking other receivers? I think we need to ignore these haters.
