Hey everyone
I’m working on setting up an S9 Bitminer in a 19" rack box, ditching the original setup. I want to use my own fans to keep the noise down, so I’ll explain my plan in detail to cover all bases.
I hold a BSc in Electronic Engineering (though I’m a programmer now and don’t use it in my job), so I’m pretty familiar with electronic terms and should be able to follow along with any tech talk... hopefully!
I haven’t purchased the S9 Bitminer yet, and I’m new to Bitcoin mining, just exploring what options I have. Luckily, my electricity costs are super low, which makes this whole mining thing worth it for me.
My idea is to fit the S9 Bitminer into a 19" rack case and use a bunch of quieter 12V fans. Do I need to connect the fans to the Bitminer’s control board? I was thinking of running the fans at full speed all the time.
Also, I noticed the Bitminer software monitors the fans. Is there a way to bypass this monitoring as long as the boards stay cool?
The room where the rack will be is kept at around 15°C, so cooling shouldn't be a huge issue.
I’m sure I’ll have more questions down the line, but this one’s got me stuck for now. Any help is really appreciated!

Okay braiins a legal approved aftermarket firmware allows for 1 fan vs 2 fans
You can make pretty quiet builds using braiins software.
You should look at my threads on this.
