A statue has found its spot at the New York Stock Exchange just ahead of Jack Maller's Twenty One Capital, which holds a whopping $3.9 billion in bitcoin. This version of Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin, is really something special. It's an artistic piece that reveals different views depending on where you stand. So, Twenty One Capital, the first Bitcoin-based public company trading on the NYSE with the ticker XXI, set up the sixth out of 21 planned monuments worldwide at the exchange while crypto markets are figuring out the ongoing uncertainty with the Federal Reserve's policies. Yep, that’s right! They’re planning to put more statues up to honor the founder, especially after the incident where the previous Satoshi monument ended up being stolen and tossed into Lake Lugano last August after the Swiss National Day celebrations.

Previously, a statue of Satoshi was made in Switzerland, and there were unexpected thefts of that statue for a while. However, in addition to making country-specific statues, various Bitcoin investment companies are currently focusing on making statues. Twenty One Capital has emerged as the first venture capital company to build a statue of Satoshi. Congratulations to 21 Capital for building a statue of Satoshi. Yes, congratulations to everyone that makes this possible. There are five other status around the world. More will come but this one on this thread indicates something very important which is bitcoin adoption. No need to mention the topic, you can notify the user that created the second thread instead next time, not the user that created the first thread.

That statue is so dang cool. Would love to have a mini one for the house. Anyone happen to know if they are sold someplace? Would be a hot seller, I'd think.

The status looks absolutely amazing, the disappearing and appearing feature makes it one of a kind, but I have my reservations.. And one of such being that there is no bitcoin logo anywhere to indeed show what the statue truly represent, yeah, I know it's Satoshi Nakamoto's statue but this is simply because it was said so, no body knows the real face of Satoshi - or maybe a very few persons with one potential person - Hal finney - late . I believe the statue is half cooked without a bitcoin logo, they should have incrypted a bitcoin logo either at the back of the laptop or on the chest of the sitting man, just like superman, iron-man and the rest have their big logo on their chest.. Just my personal observation though but great work of art there.

This great development by 21 capital reminds of of CZ's statement days ago that bitcoin cycle is dead. He was of the opinion that the bitcoin market might no longer be guided by the bull and bear market. That institutions have stepped in and the market will respect more the institutional wave. Institutions and governments are really in. We need to brace up and secure our place in bitcoin. Meanwhile, it's a very beautiful statue. One day I might have this in the middle of my compound.

It catches my attention how there are so many people and institutions making Satoshi statues around the world, considering Satoshi is pretty much a person with no face and does not want to have a face to show to the world. He does not want to have any meaningful recognition, he probably just wants to be left alone with all the money he has managed to accumulate thanks all the value of his coins. If he is around, he would probably feel quite apathetic on the existence of those statues, just my personal guess on this matter. He would be more impressed on the fact his project managed to get this far and reaching such a high market value and market capitalization.

Am I the only one who feels something powerful about seeing Satoshi represented in a way that isn’t tied to a face or identity. It captures the mystery and the collective nature of the Bitcoin movement. I also like how the sculpture looks almost alive depending on where you stand, that's very symbolic of how everyone sees Satoshi’s legacy in their own way. Sad to see what happened in Lugano though. It’s a shame people would destroy something meant to inspire but I’m glad the project is still moving forward. Bitcoin’s story deserves these kinds of cultural artifacts.

Absolutely agree with you on this point. He wouldn't want these to be put up. Instead stay as an unknown entity from the world and only his code being recognized towards everyone's financial freedom from the current banking system.

No one can know what Satoshi Nakamoto wanted or wants. Perhaps in the future, he will appear and speak for himself about all this. By the way, you are not agreeing with a living person, you are agreeing with AI. You have rewarded AI with merit 😉

He does rather want to stay anonymous or he wouldn't have left the forums and out of public affairs. We won't be hearing from them is the only certainly in life other than death and taxes. So AI have infiltrated the bitcoin talk forums. Saw they already received one merit prior so did not think anything of it. Staff should be tagging these accounts if they suspect them of being AI so nobody else does the same error in the future.

I'm curious to know who designed this art. It seems it has captured how we might see Satoshi, or what it portrays in terms of how Bitcoin should be. With whoever that may be, I hope he was paid well and that it was Bitcoin. Is there any source that shows how much it is as well? I can't wait to see this in person, or rather, any of the remaining statues.

A statue at the NYSE that disappears depending on the angle—just like Bitcoin profits. Most be cool.

A few years ago, who would have believed that Satoshi's statue would be welcomed in the New York Stock Exchange? There were times when Bitcoin was seen as the money for crime and there were several predictions by people in the stock market that Bitcoin would soon cease to exist. Now, Bitcoin is celebrated inside the organizations where some of its biggest critics work. Haters will try to stop this statue installation, like the vandalization of the one in Lugano, Switzerland. But they cannot stop the movement because we are all Satoshi. I commend those who are putting in time and resources to make this happen. Hoping that one will be installed close to my location because it will help to increase awareness.

The Satoshi Nakamoto statue is truly beautiful, has historical value in the future, and has both implicit and explicit meaning. Personally, I wish there would be a Satoshi statue made of gold or silver in the future, but maybe  that will only be realized, when Bitcoin price reaches a significant level in the future, or maybe when it matches gold market cap (I'm sure that will happen sooner or later). I believe Bitcoin-related art is truly a masterpiece, and I hope there will be no more vandalism of such beautiful art. The news article mentioned by the OP mentions that allegations of drunks vandalizing the statue. If someone stole or vandalized it, I am sure it wasn't out of hatred for Bitcoin, as I am sure everyone familiar with Bitcoin has already placed their heart in it. By the way, I think a Satoshi statue made of silver would be more fitting, considering Bitcoin has surpassed it, or is currently approaching it again. It is also aesthetically pleasing and more corrosion-resistant. Cmiiw.

They don't like things out of their control, so this is the moment you realize BTC is now controlled by Wall Street.

This is beautiful and another proof that Bitcoin's light cannot be dimmed. Bitcoin and it's creator are beginning to gain their relevance. Looking at the statue, at first I questioned how they would assume this is Satoshi nakamoto when they have not met him to know his true identity. But this statue holds quite a lot of significance which explains better the story of Satoshi. This statue portrays Satoshi to be faceless. I think this is the highlight of it. We all do not know who the true Satoshi is. We can't tell his true identity. He is faceless, so Bitcoin has no single person bitcoiners can hold as their leader. This is a symbolic image whose meaning is peculiar to the individual observers.

I agree with everybody that appreciates good work of art that the status is a masterpiece especially as it gives different perspectives from the side and front angles. The front angle is especially fascinating because it clearly defines that nobody knows the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. I quite agree with your argument that there should have been a Bitcoin logo somewhere in the statue to show a total novice what it represents being Bitcoin and it's creator Satoshi. But since the statue is not in the middle of a dessert but in the NYSE of wall street any good guessers can come to the conclusion that faceless statue situated in a place like that must be Satoshi. Afterall art is about perception and reading meanings into artwork that is the beauty of it

This status erecting is for the purpose of legacy not just for the fun or person of Satoshi. Erecting these status across different countries is symbolic as it tells of the impact that was created by this faceless man which has come to stay. I welcome the idea because those who creates impact are sometimes left unrecognized until they are gone, and the impact of what they stand for is seen Satoshi has been able to impact the world positively in such a way that people are enjoying from his creation.  But what is the essence of anyone trying to steal a status that were erected it made no sense to me.

Erecting such statues of Satoshi Nakamoto is a non verbal way of telling the world that Bitcoin is here to stay. It goes to say that Bitcoin is in for the long term ride and has a promise to deliver to its users as regards continuously being a valuable currency both for expenditure, economic growth and long or even short term investment plans. Am sure more status and paintings would be created and put in strategic places around the world as a monumental testament to a genuine currency that happens to be digital gold and the future of currency.
