Honestly, this situation felt like something out of a movie, but it just shows how crazy real life can get. A cop in South Korea got approached by a law firm's office manager to help cover up an investigation, and yeah, he took a payment for it. Eventually, this came to light, and now he’s looking at a hefty fine that’s almost equal to what he was paid, plus a six-year prison sentence. The head of the organization involved got hit with a fine as well and is doing two and a half years behind bars. If you want the full details, check out the news from this source. It definitely makes you think twice about who to trust. Sometimes, the people you think have your back might actually be working against you. Takeaway: keep your coins close and always be cautious, even if this isn't directly about crypto.

Policemen are among the most honourable professions, and with one of the best salaries among professionals, they have many benefits, including good retirement pay. Even with all of these, they still engage in corrupt practices. It's a big failure, imagine taking a long course about fighting criminality but ending up being one of the criminals. The agency or department that trains police officers should study the backgrounds and characters of their candidates, as they might be training future corrupt officials.

Even if it's a good job with good salaries there will always be people who do illegal activities. We really can't stop people from being greedy since it's innate to each of us. Even in politics is that there's also a corruption so I definitely agree with agency or department checking their background and character of each candidates. In my country, I heard from news that a police officer become a criminal by killing a single mom because of being jealous so, when it comes to money then it will surely be much worse especially if the money offered is huge amount.

What about the law firm? Don't they get punished as well or is this where one would say it is the client the law firm was trying to shield that would bear the punishment? All the same, it's unfair how few rotten eggs in the Force end up giving a bad reputation to the whole establishment due to greed and lack of integrity. Look at it, he ended up serving punishment for something that could have been avoided and didn't get to enjoy the money that made him jeopardize his honor in the first place.

According to the news, the Police was introduced to the members of an organization under investigation by the office manager of a law firm. Being a manager of a law firm, that does not mean you are the owner of the law firm. But that is still not the matter. The matter is that the law firm did nothing wrong. It is the members of the organizations that did something wrong. The manager that introduced the police to the members of the organizations was also sentenced to 2 years and 6 month in prison, and also paid fine.

It's best to keep your investment and cryptocurrency holding in secret. There are many reported physical cryptocurrency attacks with different consequences for victims including deaths. You can look at the website https://stats.gart.io/ and see there are more than 300 reported cases with 25 fatal deaths. Don't let anyone knowing about your investment in cryptocurrency and your holding is best, as if anyone know about that, you are under risk of attacks in the future. The words of mouth can spread this information about you very quickly and many more people will know about that, then your risk increases with time.

South Korea doesn't joke with crimes, they are even against these bad habits more than America, I wonder the nerve that this cop have to accept bribes in such country, everything about South Korea is toughness, I can't live over there if I am not a clean citizen. If I am one way or another into crime south Korea will be the last place I would want to live.

At least they all got to serve their punishments. This brings me to the conclusion that no one is exempt from being tempted into going against the law. I wonder what led them to default though? If it's greed or the fact that they don't get paid enough. It's sad to know that this won't serve as a deterrent to others. Although this wasn't in South Korea but I've read of a case of a policeman being punished for illegal dealings with crypto.

This is not a case of hijack using power or forcefully putting allegations on innocent people like how the cops of my country behaves, in every country there is always this type of dirty cops, this is a case of bribery, to be honest it is still fair compared to what's happening on my own country where cops will get you killed to have access to your bank account and move your money. South Korea shouldn't be underestimated, this cop must have some gut to start accepting bribes in a country that don't overlook a single crime, they don't care if you are a influencer or powerful person, and in an instant they will get your life ruined, many actors and actresses have gave up in life or even lost their lives because of how harsh this country have become, South Korea is a bully on its own, not just to outsiders but to their own people as well.

Well said. Police officers need to go for training and retraining every few years just for them to remember the values of the organization and what they stand for. I know that despite this, a complete weeding out of corrupt officials will not be possible but still it will go a long way to ensure that those who were having second thoughts on going against the values of the organization are reminded of what they represent. Also, punitive measures would also help to discourage others.
