So, I’m continuing from that earlier thread to set a standard format for help requests. This will get pinned up so it’s easy to find. Here’s the format to follow when you’re asking for help in the Tech Support section. It’ll help others assist you better since it includes all the info we need. Breakdown of each section: Bitcoin Client Software and Version: Let us know what software you’re using along with its version number. We always need this info. Operating System: Tell us the name, version, and whether it’s 32 or 64-bit. Not always needed but important for Bitcoin Client issues. System Specs: Share your CPU, RAM, and hard drive space. Again, this isn’t always a must but can help with Bitcoin Client problems. Problem Description: Describe the issue you’re experiencing. This is crucial. We need to know what’s wrong. Related Addresses: If there are any addresses linked to your issue, include those. Not always necessary unless you have transaction problems. Related Transaction IDs: Provide any transaction IDs that might relate to your issue, but again, only if it’s about transactions. Screenshot: If possible, upload a screenshot of your problem to an image hosting site like imgur. This isn’t mandatory but helps when dealing with specific issues.

I personally think "steps you took before the problem occured" help out a lot in understanding the issue and giving good advice. It also helps if the title is a short summary of the problem (yeah I know, Id add it anyway), whether or not the person asked elsewhere for advice (e.g. xpost with stack exchangen) to avoid redudancy and what steps they already did in an attempt to solve the problem. Edit: also maybe a few "donts", e.g. dont add nonsense votes or make the thread self moderated for no reason.
