What’s causing a crypto wallet to get super laggy after some updates? It just keeps loading for nearly 2 minutes. I’ve seen someone else mention this issue; can’t recall the thread, but they said they’d been using the wallet for ages and suddenly it started acting up. Is it an update problem or is my internet the culprit? Here’s what I’ve done: I switched my SIM card to a different provider, but still dealing with the same laggy experience. Thought maybe my phone was the issue, so I cleared out some files to free up space. My phone's got 12GB of RAM.

Which wallet is it? and who gave you the link? Hopefully you're not being phished. It could be lots of things. If the wallet is legit: - You might have issues because you're using a VPN - It could be a technical problem from the wallet provider.... - Could be an issue with the node you're connected to, (check if the wallet allow you to choose another node) etc. You'd have to be more specific about the issue + mention the wallet you're using so we can help you.

What wallet is it? Did you update you phone OS? Hope it is not outdated like the OS that you phone has not been supporting updates since few years ago? Is it Bluewallet? But people that complained about Bluewallet are using low RAM and low processor phones. A phone with 12 gigabyte RAM will have better processor also. There are always alternatives if it is a bitcoin wallet which you can check if they can still work perfectly on your device.

Blue wallet is one of such wallets it takes approximately 3-6 minutes to load. Most times I have to open the wallet then attend to a few other things before coming back to check if it has finished loading. I don't think it's internet connection in my case neither is it VPN because I don't use VPN. I think it's might be calculating wallets transactions data and fingerprint but to me the time is too long for such task.

You didn't mention which wallet you were using, which is why there were complaints about it being slow. By not mentioning which wallet you were using, people couldn't give you concrete steps to solve the problem you were experiencing. If you had mentioned the name of the wallet you were using, it wouldn't have taken long for you to get an answer to solve the problem. A slow network and mobile phone could be one of the reasons why this happened.

you mean that your wallet isn't syncing, your balance isn't updating, or your transactions aren't being broadcast? then it's likely that your wallet is blocked by your ISP. Using a VPN will resolve the issue. If the problem occurred after the update, reverting to the previous version might be a good solution.

If you are wondering about that, you can copy your address and check its balance with any available block explorer. It's if you are worrying about anything wrong with your transaction and wallet balance. If you check and see the balance accurately as it should be, you can consider about issues with that wallet software or your Internet connection. You can try to search for latest complaints, reviews about that wallet recently, and if something is wrong as there are other people experienced similar issues like you did, you can consider changing wallet to use. Check technical reviews of wallets with https://walletscrutiny.com/

Well, I think this has to do with your device memory and that is why you have to consider the RAM if it is an upgraded one that has the capacity of what you required, because if processing is being delayed to an extent in such manner, then the first thing we look on is the RAM to your device, however wallet like metamask could also slow down loading if this same challenges is found with your device or it was corrupted from virus attack, aside all these, I don't think there should be any delay in loading a wallet.

If you are experiencing your wallet being laggy with wallet is that, if you want to know if it’s your phone then try another wallet on that phone to see how it goes. Does your phone have good network for optimum operation of the wallet, poor network connection can be why the wallet is lagging, for me electrum can be laggy if the network is bad especially on PC.

Are you sure this could be the reason? He posted that he was still about to access the wallet but it can take 2 minutes before he can be able to access it. I have not seen anyone that has ISP complaints about noncustodial wallets before. He posted that his phone has 12 gigabyte RAM. 8 gigabyte RAM phone should be able to handle multitasking. Another thing is that RAM and CPU are both different. If you click on an app on phone, CPU makes it makes it load, but to make the application not close in background during multitasking, that is the work of RAM.

Your wallet will have issues with loading if you are still using the older version but not the other way around so it's strange though. What OS and name of the wallet and it's wallet version might give us a better understanding about what is going on. But in general if you are using an older version of the OS and the wallet provider didn't optimize the newer updates for older versions of OS can also cause this.

I used to have same issues when I was originally using Remitano app back then and the app was so sluggish that I thought it was my device or sim issues. However, overtime I learnt this is an issue that could have been caused by a software bloat or what is called database fragmentation within the wallet app itself. I did stop using the wallet app for a long time and right now they have done better to correct this issues, but they lost me as a customer. Your app database is likely bloated and also it could be the developers servers are highly overloaded. So just be patient or use some other alternatives for now.

Is Remitano not an exchange? If Remitano is an exchange, he is asking about a wallet and not an exchange. Remitano is an exchange which supposed not to be discussed on this thread because he is not referring to an exchange or Remitano. But it is funny that since OP posted this, people have asked him questions like the wallet that he is using but he has not yet come online. Then why ask such a question if you do not want to read possible solutions from people.

As far as I know and from my experience, there are currently many fake crypto wallets, for this reason you need to be careful when using a wallet, if there are infrastructure and device problems such as internet connection, large RAM and the application has been updated, However, it is still slow or stuck, usually caused by technical factors of the blockchain network or you could say limitations of the device you are using. For example, the crypto wallets that I use, such as Phantom or MetaMask, have experienced congestion caused by and depending on the node/server, If the server experiences problems, it can also disrupt the wallet process or the accumulation of transactions. It can also affect crypto wallets and small gas fees. This can also be problematic. Miners prioritize large fees and other reasons that might occur.

You did not specify the wallet and that is another challenge on how to give you the right solution without it looking like users are speculating on your problem. 1. Assuming is a bluewalet or an electrum wallet which has updated to the latest version and your phone version is not compatible but lower to the upgraded version of the wallet which has been updated, is possible you be experiencing a lagging and slow loading. 2. Another suspicion can be a poor network coverage within your location. Have you tried uninstalling the wallet and installing it again to check for any changes?

I don't know which wallet you are using now. But lol,, if the crypto wallet app lags, it is not your phones fault. Sometime app developer make the app so heavy by stuffing it with unnecessary feature, analytic and background service that even expensive phone gasp. This poor optimization actually causes the phone to heat up and hang App can slow down even when trying to sync data with the blockchain or server. Recently, I made a watch-only wallet by importing 100+ addresses on Electrum and noticed it's much more laggy than the normal one. So, if there is a jam in the network or if the app want to load your balance and all the transaction history at once that is when the problem arises. To avoid this pain you can clear the apps cache or close the app completely and start it again. Sometime deleting it and downloading a new one from the official store also work. Any bugs that remain after the update can also be fixed in this way

OP isn’t giving any response yet but I’m guessing it has to be their device. It’s not about internet connection , it’s definitely about your device.. Internet con. is only needed for sync in every reputable self custody wallet  , your transaction data  is stored locally at the same time ( explains why it all disappears after they are uninstalled) so it’s pretty fast even without using internet. Update your device OS itself, reduce your storage load and probably uninstall unnecessary apps..

Sometimes this could be as a result of your system update, when someone operating apps are extremely out of date even if the software is up to date, this can trigger lagging on some apps especially those that have heavy history and several records to update.. I normally experience such issues with my Samsung device and anytime I encounter such lagging on any apps I just make sure that I up all necessary applications that help my device to optimize well.

2 minutes is a little unusual and the few times I’ve had to experience this lag time in system authentication is usually when my network is bad, it result in a faulty or long connectivity and the synchronization of my transactions takes a longer time to go through. Other than that, I don’t usually have much for worry with my wallet and having to synchronize and be ready for use. There is a question of what wallet is in use though but, it generally shouldn’t give you any issues despite the update on it once your network is good.

Wallets like MetaMask are now enforcing geofencing policies to comply with US sanctions sanctions, users encountering errors such as connection failures, inability to broadcast transactions, seeing the wrong balance, or sync extending beyond several minutes. What To Do If MetaMask Has Stopped Working In Your Country
