Ive just put an S9J board into a standard S9. The S9 was running at 900w on BrainsOS. The S9J board would not go above 550hz. Flashed with old type FW and its rubbing at 14Th stable!
Update- The S9j boards were exactly the same as the my S9. I swapped it for a faulty S9 and its running slower/Mhz than the other two? Is the control PCB picking it up?
Brilliant. Looks simple enough to upgrade via flash by directly or via SD card/inage/jumper pins.
I have not tried anything yet tbh as I have not got the S9J. I have in the past tried swapping s9 and S9i boards but the heat sinks are physically are different height so not compatible. I presume BrainsOS is on their…
Hey everyone I found a cheap S9J, but I've never used one before. My experience is only with the S9 and S9i. I did some digging online and it looks like the hash boards might be interchangeable with the S9i? A lot of…
Hey everyone I just grabbed an S9 for a steal and opened it up for a little cleaning. I noticed these extra PCB boards inside. I've never seen anything like this on other S9 boards before. Does anyone have any idea what…
Plus i have tried to add a picture of the image and nothing shows? Only a link?? I have tried -HTML EMBED, BBCode (Forums), plus tried putting them in the 'add image' icon when you post on here? Cheers
Here is the board, it's in position 8 (furthest away from PCIE connection for control board). It's still running fine with NO heatsink! I have a spare heatsink and some epoxy paste here to add one.... Can you explain…
Hey everyone I just got another S9 from Ebay and decided to take a look inside to clean it up before I set it up for mining. Most of the screws were loose and it looked like it had been opened before. I noticed that…
- Is the AntMiner S19 Pro worth it?Apr 6, 2022
Thanks all. Looks like their custom chips only run @ 45c compared to 89c with my current s9's! I just read that the S19J was slightly underclocked and more stable/reliable but it does not seem the case. Looks like i…
- Is the AntMiner S19 Pro worth it?Apr 6, 2022
Hey everyone. I'm considering getting an S19 Pro or something similar. I'm looking to upgrade from my S9s, but I've got some concerns about how reliable they are. Do you think they're an improvement over the S9s? Can I…
Cheers guys, i'm about to put x3cards in my dishwasher (no detergent/plain water which is soft in my area as well). I'll leave them dry on a radiator (we have them in the UK...lol). Then i will spray them with IPA, it's…
Is this a joke using a dishwasher to clean boards? Surely water would cause damage? Are you using a washer tablet as well?? I've ordered some iso alc 99.9% in a sprayer, only sprayair i can get is in a can does not last…
Hey everyone I mostly work with S9/i models since they’re affordable and replacing hash boards isn’t too costly. I’ve got some that I set aside to sell because they weren’t working or would constantly restart, but then…
What a great feature! So BraiinsOS+ now runs BOSminer not CGminer like older FW. I was running an S9 on 2 cards with a APW3++ 1600w psu set at 800w, it must of been auto tuning, i am new to this FW.... It is now running…
Thanks for reply. I have been looking for simple liquid cooled setups. I thought you could only disable monitoring off one fan with BrainsOS and both would need disabling. Also where is the auto restart function? I…
Hey everyone I’ve got a few extra GPUs and control boards lying around that I don’t use, and I’m thinking about putting together a straightforward oil-cooled rig without any circulation or even a basic cooling setup.…
- S19 board compatibility questionDec 30, 2019
Hey everyone I’ve got a couple of S19s and I’m wondering which boards work with them. Upgrading from S9s was pretty straightforward for me. I haven’t taken one apart or cleaned it yet. Right now, I have two machines…
Looks like the +12v are seperate rails and GND/-12v shared. I will just add an extra pin to each double 8pin >x2 6pin. So i will have a set of two 8pin >x3 6 pins. Current will be approx 800/12=66.67a Is this correct?…
@NotFuzzyWarm Yes i will be running only 2 boards @ 700w or 800w. Is that why 'common rail' modular PSUs are so expensive? The only PSUs i can see that have enough outputs (X7) are the EVGA ones and they are silly…
