Is it possible to swap the control board from a T17+ into an S17 pro? They seem different at first glance.

Depending on the control board model, it is best to check the control board manually by disassembling the unit.
If it XiLinx control board I thinly it should be compatible you just need to reflash it with exact firmware.

It will not work if you use stock firmware; instead, you must flash it with modded or custom firmware, such as Braiins OS, if you want the hashboard to detect, as each hashboard has a unique serial number. The hashboard will not recognize the serial if it is not registered on the control board.
To bypass that issue, you need to boot it or flash the control board with Braiins OS to make them work.
