i'm looking to build a mining rig at home and give mining a shot. i've got a budget of 100,000 INR, which is about 1,338 USD at the moment. any tips or advice would be super helpful. if i can make even 5k INR a month to start with, that would be awesome. this is after covering the electricity costs, of course. thanks!

If doing at home AVOID ASICs. Your returns depends on your power and india is not cheap. Simulate using the highest slab of tariff. If you are expecting to stay in the lower band or 'free' electricity it may not be worth the risk, depending on the repercussions in the area. A normal person stealing electricity is hard to catch, a miner is easy.

how do i simulate? i am not going to steal electricity. just want something to work while i work the day job. trying to do a self project and learn something new. and it would not hurt if i could make my money back ultimately.. at least. because i'd be investing my savings.

Your electricity costs are still high with that budget you can't buy any brand-new miner unless if you are planning to buy a refurbished or 2nd hand miner? If you want to find a miner that is still profitable with that budget then try to contact offordscott You can also try to check this https://www.zeusbtc.com/ASIC-Miner-Repair/ then try to ask them for the price and stocks. It seems that s17 pro or s17+ is the only option you can buy for that budget.
