Apollo Miners Software from FutureBit

I was checking out the software for Apollo Miners and it seems to be closed source. Can you run Apollo Miners using open source software like cgminer or bfgminer instead? I noticed that jstefanop has some cloned repositories with modifications from cgminer and bfgminer. I'm curious if those are just some compiled versions, or if the published binaries have something unique. Edit: Nevermind, I found the answer.
