Why is nobody taking advantage of the arbitrage between KuCoin and Poloniex for Monero? I’ve noticed some pretty decent spreads, sometimes hitting nearly one percent. KuCoin has way more liquidity and lower fees compared to Poloniex. Here’s why I’m mentioning this. I trade a lot in P2P markets (like Bisq, Haveno, UnstoppableSwap) with bitcoin and Monero. I avoid KYC exchanges, so my options are limited to Poloniex (and TradeOgre when I hit my daily limit on unverified accounts) to wrap up my trades and secure my gains. The low liquidity on those platforms is eating into my profits. So, here’s an idea. If someone is cool with going through all the KYC nonsense and can document funding sources, they could set up a verified, unlimited account on both KuCoin and Poloniex. Keep Monero on Poloniex and bitcoin on KuCoin. When I hit you up, you could place a market order (or a limit order that’ll get filled quickly) on KuCoin for a certain amount of Monero, and at the same time, set a limit sell order for Monero on Poloniex at 0.5% above your purchase price on KuCoin. The fees from both Poloniex and KuCoin should be around 0.2%, leaving you with a net gain of 0.3% on each trade. Your stash of bitcoin and Monero would keep increasing. I’d buy the Monero you got on Poloniex right away. Once that’s done, you can withdraw your bitcoin from Poloniex, send it to KuCoin, and then transfer the Monero you bought back to Poloniex so we’re ready for the next trade.
