PDF File: https://mega.nz/#!I5sljCaS!OAk5tEV2RV0DnRiBquMl6mHuh0AxlGQGexVUORBd0h4 1) Overview and additional items required (top) AvalonMiner 1041 is an ASIC miner for Bitcoin (SHA-256) that utilizes 16nm ASIC chip tech. It’s made by Canaan Creative, based in Beijing, China. This is the 10th gen AvalonMiner from Canaan, featuring a 3rd gen 16nm Bitcoin ASIC chip known as A3205. The performance and energy efficiency of this chip have significantly improved compared to earlier Avalon models. This miner is a self-contained unit with an integrated controller board and power supply, which is a big shift from the previous setups needing a separate PSU and Raspberry Pi for control. Good news about networking is that you can still daisy chain these miners together using the ethernet port. The advertised hashrate for this unit is 31.0 Th/s, with a power draw of 1736 Watts. There's also a high-performance mode that boosts the hashrate to 36.9 Th/s at 2361 Watts. It weighs in at 7.9 kg with dimensions of 190 mm (L) x 190 mm (W) x 292 mm (H).

If you are able to drop the intake / operating temperature about 10C you should see 100-200 watt difference in power consumption. Under 30 is the best but the likelihood of that happening is low

I need to stress that i really like this unit with the larger psu. It is pretty quiet on the 30th speed setting. My mining area in Clifton will get cooler in the winter. The mine fluxes ph from 880th to 910th. Heat of the day 880th. Early morning at sunrise 910th. This will all improve in fall and winter.

I agree. In Normal mode to give ~31TH the 40mm fan in the PSU is louder than the miner itself and even then the fan noise is not bad at all. Considering the PSU is barely warm even in high ambient temps perhaps the PSU fan speed can be lowered if some cares about that. That said, even in High Performance mode the A10's are more of a 'whooshing' sound vs howlers/screamers like the Whatsminers.

no question it can work in a garage or a house on lower speed to heat in the winter. I have been hands on almost every new unit around   m20 and m21 are the only two I have not gotten yet. For an in-house miner  I rate the a1041 on 30-31 speed the most manageable one to use in terms of sound.  If you never want it to be loud  set it at 30-31 speed and you can manage the sound.   plus you only drop off from 36/37 to 30/31 hash rate wise. the m21s  on low is only 29th it drops off from 56th  too much unused hash to make it worth it. So if you want a space heater or 2 for the winter the a1041 fits the bill with the larger psu.

These machines really like to be cool. I noticed a huge improvement in the power efficiency when I was able to cool down the intake temp to 38 C.   I added my latest update in the review post.

Hold down the function button (left button) for 5-10 seconds then release. Then press the reset button on the right. I believe while holding the left button it will flash white, then when you press the right button it will quickly flash red and reboot.

Nope, a friend contact the support. To restart to factory you have to power off, and power on with func pressed for 1 min. Then wait a couple seconds and power off/on and voilá.

An update to this old thread: the A1041 that I sold forward to Phil was indeed concluded that the postal office handled it rough and broke it. I guess that the usual foam needs to be doubled if you trust your miners to be delivered by the national postal offices.. I would also like to use this post to mention that I'm in talks with Canaan for a possible A1246 review. So keep yourself updated about the latest gen. AvalonMiner soon.
