Hey everyone! This is my first time posting here! Can anyone suggest some reliable places to snag a bitcoin miner? I've checked out Avalon, Bitmain, and Futurebit miners over the years. But man, I just can’t find a decent budget miner. Each time I get motivated to hunt for one, it’s like they’re all sold out before I can blink. I really don’t want to drop more than 5000 bucks on my first miner. Plus, shipping to Europe would be a big plus. Whenever I ask for tips on where to buy miners, the responses are usually vague. I’m also kinda wary of second-hand markets since I'm not super experienced with running nodes or validators yet, and I want to avoid getting scammed. I’ve read some reviews about Bitmain and Avalon where they supposedly test the miner before sending it out, which honestly just made me more hesitant, so I passed up one time they had a pre-order option with miners in stock. I’d appreciate any solid recommendations, and building a miner myself is just a wild thought considering I can’t find reliable guides for it. Thanks a lot for any help!

thanks for your fast reply! I noticed it right away but was wondering about your questions haha ebay indeed has some options and i've already liked some miners to try. I think 1-3KW would be a good start for me, just to play with it and see how it goes. thinking about using it in a house but not sure if I want to use it for heating yet

for 1-3Kw the best is s19k pro 120T @ 2800w i would reccomend you to go all in and purchase s21 xp 270T @ 3750W. You can use low power mode when bitmain will release the firmware. It is expensive https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antmine-s21-xp-270th https://minetheasic.com/home-mining?BTC

nice to hear recommendation for s19k pro 120T @ 2760w as it is one of the miners that I liked on ebay. by the way, are you hesitant to order from china or they should be fine? because the best offers that I see for 'brand new' miners are from hongkong/shenzen. also the link that you've sent for the 270TH miner has some 'trusted vendors' at the bottom, should I order from them since I don't see it on ebay ( x-on mining, apexto, crypto tech, yesmining... )

unusual opinion. I thought Bitmain was the main player in ASICs. Could you please elaborate on details on failure? or link references (from the forum)?

I'm away from home for a couple more months. I did the math and I really have to go for something like - Bitmain Antminer S21 XP (270Th) ~ 6000$ in order to be in profit since electricity is not very cheap where I live. I am also thinking about partly solar powered solution where I will not depend on electricity for profit, but should start with a lower Th miner. I will be spinning a full-node first thing when I get back and then see how it goes

Hey, I'm looking to order something right now so I don't have to wait when I get back home, I decided to give it a try with a solar powered setup. I was going for S19k Pro 120TH/s, but I can't find any good deals right now in Europe, only in China and I'm not sure how the customs will handle it. I found this one from Croatia which will be delivered easier and cheaper, any thoughts on it? S19j Pro 104TH . It is used but is just around 1000 eur. The plan is to upgrade to 2 or 3 miners if everything works fine, but not sure what will be the other ones yet.

What does 'hosting option available' mean exactly?

you pay upfront for them to host the machines on their facility and manage them for you. Ofcourse, you get the ability to access it and do stuff like changing pool or even upgrading firmware etc..

OP. Canaan just launched a 90T miner Avalon Q. Takes 1674W at high power. Mid power @ 70T 1300W and low power 42T at 800W. Its lower decibal also and more reliant than bitmain products. get that. Price is 1599$ https://www.canaan.io/minerq https://mineshop.eu/ https://www.jinglemining.com/

ajaxtempest!! nice find on the new miner brother, thanks so much, I might order it indeed. Btw the s19j pro arrived and I tried it both on pool with other people and on solo mining * just for about an hour *. Need to wait to install the solar so my mining has some financial reason for me, the sound from the s19j pro is so loud tho, I didn't expect that much sound, now I'm thinking if maybe I should build a small area outside of the house where I should put it or alternative ways to limit the sound.. maybe I'll put in in the garage in the first place but we'll see

which model? thash and price? and electricity cost? From where did you bought it? you should have bought Avalon Q. Db is 45-65 only compare to bitmain 85db. also bitmain miners are failing a lot. buy 1 avalon Q and wait for winter and get the future mini 3/4 or Q2.

The model is Antminer S19j Pro 104TH/s, 3.2kW, bought from ebay from a guy in Croatia. I should've bought the avalon Q indeed, once i complete my setup i might get it What do you mean by bitmain miners are failing a lot? What is meant by failing? Also how do you handle the sound from these miners? Do you just keep them away from where you live or is there some nice methods to isolate them but also keep the air flow good so they dont overheat? Do you use thermostats or any other monitoring methods for the temperature. I just saw a video in youtube of a guy dismantling a bitmain, removing the fans and setting up hydro cooling system.. however the sound didn't change as much as i would like to  (heard it in the video)

cost of miner and Electricity costs?  I reccomend you sell it and use the proceeds to buy avalon Q. 3200W give you 104Thash gives you 30.8J whereas Q gives you 1674W at 90T+5% at 18.6. My miner mini 3 does not make any sound. It is silent. nano 3 makes a lot of sound. If you want to reduce noise then you would have to reduce power. try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YTW0PGOYb0 read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5502928.0
