I’ve got two little miners, a Futurebit Apollo and an Avalon Nano 3. Right now, I'm keeping them in my front bedroom office, but man, it gets super hot in there. Especially in July, living in Florida.
Is there any reason to avoid putting them in the garage while they’re mining? I mean, it does heat up to around 90 degrees during the day.
Just trying to figure out a decent spot for them to run during this summer heat. Any suggestions?
They should handle 90f try the garage and see how they work for you.
I have spent time in Florida most people run AC in the summer.
I would think they would not over heat a room using AC. As they only use 250-300 watts combine
That's a pretty small miner and low power consumption I don't think it could give much heat in your room unless you have a small room.
I don't think you should run them in the garage but it is a good alternative place to run a miner you need to add a bit of fan to keep their temp down and prevent it from overheating.
300w worth of heat in a small room without an AC is a lot of heat especially if the room is well insulated and it's hot outside, the heat will accumulate and the room will eventually get pretty warm/hot.
I don't see any reason why not to run them in the garage, you may as well get a small USB fan to move the air around to keep them even cooler, if the garage is big, you may not even need much air movement.
