Hey folks, I'm looking for affordable ways to trade my ETH for BTC. I checked out Thorchain, but the fees are way too high. I’ve got a Ledger, and I want to steer clear of centralized services. Just need options for DEX. Any tips or suggestions on how to switch Ethereum to Bitcoin?

Check Unstoppable swap (made by unstoppable wallet): https://swap.unstoppable.money/swap?sellAsset=BTC.BTC&buyAsset=ETH.ETH You get to choose the provider. You've got Maya Protocol and NEAR protocol. AFAIK, Thorchain is as decentralized as things can get. NEAR protocol does a mechanism to screen user's transaction and block them if I'm not mistaken.

I would suggest b1exch.to, it's a relatively new exchange, fully decentralised and is almost instant. ETH to BTC exchange is possible, but I just checked and it's low on liquidity, but should be resolved soon. I'd suggest you to check it out, I've also used it myself and I'm completely satisfied, there are other reviews on the forum and you could also check the ANN topic for more information.

You can use cce.cash , b1exch.to. These two still have an active campaign  on the forum and offers ETH swap but if you need more list you can check https://bitlist.co/exchanges , it has alot listed on it . I've  used changeum.io a couple of times too but it's  being a while they stop advertising on the forum , you can check it out though. That aside, I notice user bournekin edited their comment to "good question " after posting this : Doesn’t look like it mean any harm but judging both of you already have similar red tag from nultidaha and also reset  your accounts on same date and hour, that look a bit suspicion. The site flake.exchange was registered in same month both of you reset your accounts too, perhaps you can tell us more about it because it requires users to connect  their wallets before they can swap.

Good call, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is simply staged. One user asks a question and then the following (alt) account replies with a shady and suspicious exchange that coincidentally, is freshly registered. I'm not saying it's a scam, but it's suspicious to say the least. The only thing I could find about it is a post on Binance, which I will link below, a comment on Reddit, and some other articles on random cryptocurrency websites, which I will also link as well. It might really not be a scam or just a suspected scam, but there are patterns where a service will be used as a form of promotion that will attract suspicion to them, just like the OP and the first users to comment did, and why there was also a rush to get it edited out appears suspicious. I tried to search through the site online, and Scam Advisor still doesn't have any bad reviews about them and said it's likely to be scam-free, but I still highly recommend new sites, especially exchanges, to be dealt with cautiously.

Thorswap may be too expensive and not as efficient as you would like and that's why for lower cost after gas fees are subtracted, a DEX exchange like Maya, Garden or Chainflip which can scan Thorchain is a better option as my research findings indicate. Though I can't go into more details but a DEX that makes sure you have enough BTC after swapping is the key to financial management and security and why the earlier mentioned DEX exchange come up as top on my list. Visit sources for better information: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/garden-finance? https://shapeshift.com/blog/maya-protocol?hl=en-US https://thorswap.medium.com/cross-chain-made-easy-thorswap-integrates-chainflip-liquidity-network-3894d24db1b8?hl=en-US

I think we might start flagging all the accounts involved. in the other list in the reputations board so that even when they create a topic, a big red warning can still be seen by newbies and guest users. I won't even bother responding to OP. For context, these are his last 3 topics before this one. Do you see something familiar? 1. Reliable decentralized BTC swap/bridge? 2. How do you buy crypto these days without getting flagged? 3. Is it possible to buy Zcash without kyc?

You're right, that's most likely the case here. What you described has become a quite popular method of advertisement lately. I'm seeing it on Reddit, and also here, people pose like they're using a service or product and then recommend it to others. This slowly builds up recognition and if the platform is actually worth it, it'll eventually gain some reviews etc. This method applies to outside of cryptocurrenciea as well. In all cases, caution should always be exercised and always do your own research for trusted and valid feedback.

Just use thorchain thorswap because its truly decentralized and will not freeze your money but like other mentioned, I suspect that OP will change his post too and trying to promote his scam site. So, whoever reading this, just beware on anything promoted by the OP if he somehow edited the topic to promote his scam because that site is probably scam.
