Bitmain S11 20.5 TH miner

I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere: So here's the S11 model. It’s rated for 20.5 TH/s at 1435W minimum and can drop down to 16-17.5 TH/s with only 1024W minimum. Cost is $545, but the shipping is expected between Jan. 25 and Feb. 4, 2019. Seems like a solid miner if it performs well, but that shipping timeline is kinda sketchy...

Looks like a deal if the US can sort out the tariffs by then, which is in the works. They could sell out if they can get the 25% monkey off their back.

And assuming they're not already burned out after running for a year in HashNest.

" Deal " ?? Delivered price at .058 per KWH is a 555 day pay off. @ .048 per KWH it's 437 days. How is that a deal?? Nope....keep trying Bitmain. Even without tarriffs that metric is horrible.

Interesting they do not say what chips are in it, just that there are 252 of them. My guess: They are the s9's 16nm chips running in a low power mode. Throw in the built in PSU and I suspect that like the Whatsminer's they are pushing max efficiency by using more chips per-string and feeding in higher voltage straight from the PSU with no intermediate regulator.

I don't know li but if you trust them it's a good buy as the m10 won't have another batch out till late January I believe. If the s11 unit is solid I might get one or two with coupons I have, replace the s9's. Maybe that will take away from the "mark" Stryfe mentions. This should be under threshold for our shipper but they will charge more for delivery to soak the tariff for us. Still cheaper than 27.6%.

it states no coupons could be used - I have dozens and none of them were available to be applied to the s11.

I missed the no coupons, I guess you'll have to order two or a part or something to move the pricing off of the devils number. Spare fans are always nice to have.

$545 + $150 (tariff) + $120 (shipping) = $815 for an S11.. ouch. Used market for S9's is $200-250/rig including PSU. That's 3-4 S9's per s11.. 20.5TH (S11) v 56TH (x4 s9's). Given that difficulty continues to drastically decrease (looks like another 15% decline next week) S9's continue to have legs and could be profitable for quite a while longer. What is even more concerning to me about the S11 is the double form factor the miner comes in.. This completely throws off the design (racking, electrical, wiring/cat5, physical space!..) and infrastructure of existing farms. This can have huge cost implications. Sure would be interesting if the Inno T3, Pangolin M10 and Ebang E11++ could come down to a comparable price ($/TH) as the S11.. They are much more efficient machines and still use the single form factor (similar to the size of an S9). Bitmain losing it's grip as the mining gear juggernaut?

Size and form factor are also an issue, and I can guess it's 16nm chips or else they'd gloat about them, so reliability might be an issue as well. I usually don't recommend this unless it's true, but better odds to hold onto coins, wait for difficulty and price to go up from all the new miners and profit via holding. I'm looking for a new miner to replace my S9 and 821, but so far nothing has worked out to be a winner unless a random sustained price spike happens again. Which once again, simply holding coins would be better. By the time any of these near 1K in cost miners get delivered, difficulty could start going back up, or price may collapse. Seeing how much efficiency numerous companies have been pushing out for 16nm magically right after they no longer turn a profit for most people, not just AB but also low power modes, the S15 and others will probably have a super efficient batch coming in half a year, once the companies start replacing them with the next generation.

I ordered an A921 from blokforge  cost of 393  used a cc so 400 for 20th at 1800 watts  this will be here before Jan 1 vs 800 for 20.5 th at 1450 watts  this will show in Feb. So I save 350 watts with it  that is about  8 9 kwatts a day or 240-270 kwatts a month at 10cents that is 27 bucks  so never mind you would be dumb to mine at 10 cents  if your power is 5 cents it is a savings of 13.5 a month. that means it needs to run for 30 months to save 405 dollars. this deal is bad real bad

It looks more like selling old hardware they never planned to release in an attempt to stay in business. Bitmain not looking too good...

So weird the pre order is soo long on what is essentially old hardware. We could import these not duty free like the s9's we've been doing but feb. . for real? Edit: Looks like they're shipping in seven days in from Chinese site. We could probably get these sooner.

Why would you want them?

They are worth around 500 to 550. Based on the a921 from blokforge I am assuming they arrive the same day. I am assuming you have a psu And a rasp pi. They basically save you 350 to 450 watts or say 10 kwatts a day over the a921 That is 300 kwatts in savings in a month so 5 cent power it is 15 a month. So if it is 150 more then the a921 in ten months your have caught up to an Avalon. You need this gear way cheaper then it is listed
