Hey all,
I’ve got a Whatsminer M50 hashboard along with the control board, and I'm about to fire it up. The catch is, I don’t have a power supply at the moment. Can I use an OEM PSU with less wattage since I’m only running one hashboard?
Also, will it cause any issues if I don’t hook up the control board connection for the power supply?
Any advice would be super helpful.
Can I use an OEM power supply for a single Whatsminer M50 hashboard?

If it can provide enough power, why not? It should work, but the problem is I don't know if Whatsminer m50 units will run with a single hashboard.
Is the OEM power supply you talking about usually used for old ASIC miners like this one below?
If that's what you're talking about, take note of the metal or copper strip because newer ASIC units like this one have metal or copper strips to distribute power into the hashboard.
After a bit of research, it seems Whatsminer units will report some error when running only one hashboard, but it will work just fine.
