Got some cool updates for all you crypto fans and miners out there. Canaan just dropped the highly awaited Avalon 1466 Miner, and I’m here to break it down for you. So here’s the deal. For the last few weeks, Canaan has been teasing us on Twitter about this new release, and now we finally have the full scoop with all the specs, prices, and shipping info. Let’s get into what makes this miner so interesting. The Avalon 1466 comes in two versions: 1. Air Cooled Model (A1466): - Hashrate: 150 terahash - Efficiency: 21.5 joules/terahash - Price: Around $2,100 The specs are pretty similar to BitMain’s latest S19J XP. But the real kicker? The Avalon is priced at about $2,100, which is a steal compared to the S19JXP that’s priced around $5,000. 2. Liquid Cooled Model: - Hashrate: 170 terahash - Efficiency: 19.5 joules/terahash - Price: Roughly $18.88/terahash What’s really appealing is how low the price is for the air-cooled model. It’s hard to resist, honestly. But here’s the catch with shipping. The Avalon 1466 won’t start shipping until somewhere between Q1 and Q2 of 2024. That’s after the Bitcoin halving, which could be a deal-breaker for some folks. We’ve been trying to estimate how well this machine will perform based on current BTC prices and market conditions. If you had the Avalon 1466 today, running it at a rate of 10 cents per kilowatt-hour, you might see a profit of about $1.70 a day. But after the halving, things could change.

If ASIC manufacturer Canaan has problems with equipment supplies, then ASICs from Bitmain Antminer S21 will sell well, and these ASICs have a very good energy efficiency indicator. Does Canaan have problems producing new chips for these ASICs?

It's usually supplier issues, but I would say that, most likely, some of their third-party partners are not up to speed.
