Hey everyone,
I had 6 miners that were running smoothly for the last 6 months, but last night 4 of them dropped offline and won’t connect to the internet. They’re not even showing up in the router.
Right now, I see 5 miners in the router, but I can only access 2 of them. The other 3 have IP addresses but won’t let me in or connect to the pool. As for the 6th one, it’s completely offline.
I’ve reset the router and swapped out the Ethernet switch.
Any thoughts on what might be going wrong?
Thanks!
Have you tried to run them one by one to test if it's an IP issue or not?
Have you also set all miners in static instead of DHCP mode?
Also, would you mind to tell us the exact unit model of these miners?
And pool where you mine?
You could try a hard reset on them or a firmware flash if you are unable to get to the webdash.
If you can post the models of the miners will be able to give more advice on how to go about this process.
Hi thanks for your replies.
I have 3 x 120th s19, 2 x 110th s19, and 1 100th s19 pro.
I have tested one by one but same results, the same two will come online but none of the others.
I haven't turned of DCHP mode.
I mine to Luxor pool
I did a reset on two that weren't connecting by holding down the reset button but nothing changed.
I can see them through the router for about 5 mins after plugging them in, but their ip addresses don't load, and then they just disappear
Thanks again for any advice you can give
So the 4 units are still unable to access the dashboard even you run them one by one.
I'd like you to try to flash the unit through SD card flashing.
If you don't know how to flash it through SD card check this guide below.
If the other 3 units do not have an SD card slot but there is a Micro/ OTG USB slot you will need a USB adapter or USB port to USB female connector to be able to flash the SD firmware to these miners that do not have SD card slot.
Check this guide below for non-SD card slot units.

So im going to do the one with a SD card slot first, but its got a BeagleBone board as i was running Braiins. So unsure which i download for the s19 pro 100th, i assume its "sd-recover-bmu-S19Pro-fixed-202006012027-release.zip 26.91MB
SD firmware for S19 Pro"
Could you confirm please?
Do you have 2 routers between ASICs and the Internet or 1 router?
If there are 2 routers, then try to first check each ASIC and connect to the Internet through the first router.
Do not rush to update the firmware until you have checked your routers.
So the miners have been working fine for 6 months, and you did not make any change in the network setup, how come nobody suspected a virus in this story? out of all the possible scenarios out there, the best thing that matches your story would be "your miners got infected with a virus".
Do you use the default password on all miners? did you buy any of them used?
I mean, if you have not updated your router firmware or added an extra router / managed switch or any change of that nature, it's most likely a virus, you are going to need to Sdcard all of them (or do the equivalent for those CB without Sdcard slot), then you need to find out where did the virus come from? isolate the network, and don't use the old pc/laptop you used to access them.
If it's a beaglebone control board would you mind to check carefully the name of the controller?
It seems Bitmain does not have firmware for the s19/pro BB control board if the controller name is S19J_IO_BOARD_V2_0 then you will need the BB firmware from s19j as suggested from Bitmain check the link below.
