The saga continues with another showdown! So COPA, or the Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance, kicked off last year to protect open-source stuff around Bitcoin. Now they've filed a lawsuit against Craig S. Wright, aka Faketoshi, for trying to assert copyright over the Bitcoin white paper. This guy Faketoshi has been throwing lawsuits at various Bitcoin devs and anyone who dares to host the Bitcoin whitepaper on their sites, including Square, which actually helped start COPA. But COPA has called him out, asking him to prove he's Satoshi Nakamoto. Spoiler alert: he can’t do it.

So the ice was broken. Great news! And the price seems to love this news too  As I've seen posted on twitter too: let's finally end this mess. I'm curious how long will this lawsuit take and how many other will follow...

I hope the court system is able to deal with this case promptly, there seems to be far too much stolen content circulating online, just referring to the original producer takes so little effort. It usually affects small time content producers and charitable organizations the most when others try to take credit. It is one thing to share information but when you start claiming it as your own or even trying to make money from it - that really crosses the line into theft. The courts seem to be super busy right now because Covid put a lot of stuff on hold, however this will likely put a lot of fear into the defendant and might make him try to settle before an obvious loss in court.

It's good to see that people are willing to take the fight to him.  At the very least, it takes an amount of time which Faketoshi is unable to spend attacking others.  The injunction sounds promising.  Hope they get it.  Not sure what their chances are, but will keep my fingers crossed.

He is not a poor man and I am sure he is crazy enough and ready to continue with this circus for a long time. This is reply from CSW Faketoshi related with latest lawsuit against him from COPA: And this is one more of his recent messages were he said he will bring nuclear Armageddon to crypto industry

TBH this wouldn't be an issue if the real author (which is Satoshi) would be coming out and claiming it, with this of course Craig Wright will be proven to infringe the rights of Satoshi itself. But of course this is something impossible as Satoshi would like to remain hidden until now that causes several people to claim his name. COPA need to go to the hard route instead and that is disproving Craigh Wright as Satoshi which I think previous lawsuits have proven that he is not. Lets just hope COPA for the best and hope that the judge will side with them just to discredit Craig Wright more.
