So, DOGE has been shut down eight months before it was supposed to wrap up in July 2026. Some former DOGE team members have found new positions in the government. Elon Musk was the one who started DOGE, pushing its agenda on social media. So, according to a recent report, the Department of Government Efficiency, which was under Trump, has officially disbanded. This was supposed to be a big move to reduce the size of the government, but critics are saying it didn’t really save much money at all. When asked about DOGE’s current status, Scott Kupor, the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, flat out said that it "doesn’t exist".
