I just got on board and started mining at solo.ckpool.org using my bitaxe 401 supra. My hashrate is around 625 GH. Since I kicked things off, I've got 670 shares but 9 of them got rejected. That feels pretty high since I heard the reject rate should be under 1%. I know it’s only been a short while, but I’m kinda shocked by all the rejects.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be awesome.
Thanks, Mike
Since you don't provide any details or log, i only can mention common issue.
1. Check connection speed and latency to ckpool server. I don't know what OS you use, but i usually use nmap -p 3333 solo.ckpool.org on Linux. Also ensure WiFi signal received by your BitAxe isn't too weak.
2. If you overclock your BitAxe Supra 401 or it's very hot, it may increase reject rate.
all the rejects ha.
Please wait till you do 6700 shares and see what it is.
Here is a hint many times the first hour of hashing rejects are more common after a week or so you will notice the number get much better.
When you are at 6700 shares let us know your rejects. My guess is they will be under 30 which would be under ½ of 1%
1% vs 1.3% isn't all that different is it? anyway, rejected shares mainly happen for two reasons:
1- Latency (internet-related issue), this is the most common cause for rejected shares, so check your internet connection, ping the pool with -t option in CMD, let it do 100-200 pings, and check the status.
2- Software/Miner issue: not very common with known ASICs since usually those software versions are heavily tested, whatever new small device you are using could be the issue, check with other folks if they have the same thing.
Also, just so you know, as far as I know, solo.ckpool.org has only one server and it's located in the U.S, so if you happen to be way to far from it, then you are more subject to high latency and thus more rejected shares.
With that said, since you can't do anything about it (unless improve your connection if it turns out to be the issue), I'd just settle with the 1-2% and leave it be.
he never replied back to give us an update on rejects. So we do not know what a long term rate for his gear is. 1.3 vs 1.0 is not as big a deal the you look at accepted.
which is 99.0 vs 98.7, but without an update we do not know what he is at over a longer haul.
